Twisted Tuning Transfer Case Mounts

I am considering getting this for my xdrive as I am about to hit 100k miles and I would assume my OE mount is probably getting worn.

Does anyone know of a good DIY for this, I haven't been able to find one...

I just ordered one today. I am hoping it ships sooner than later. The upgrade makes sense to me keeping transfer case alignment straight under power. Hoping it doesn't cause too much vibration or noise.

vibration can ruin your interior panels.. dont do that unless you want your car to sound like a cheap shit inside..

BMW spends millions in research and development to balance comfort quality and performance..

I am pretty sure the open dumps out of my 6466 will help with the interior panel noise.

I don't understand what a "transfer case mount" is. The transfer case is mounted directly to the back of the transmission(s). There is no "mount". It's hard surface and some bolts directly against another hard surface (with a gasket).

There is no Transmisison mounts on the Xdrive, bolted to the bellhousing and the x-case holds the back of the assembly via very soft bushing.

will install my TT solid x-case mount in a few days and will report on NVH.
if im unhappy with the nvh i will simply prime and cast some urethethan in the original mount and hope it will least couple months.

Nvh with the mount insert is too much for me, wish he did poly ones instead like originally planned, had to raise idle and still too much nvh, and revving it gets worse as rpms increase. .I may take it off down the road...
The good: instant neck breaking acceleration and crisp quicker shifts.

After almost 3 weeks, are you still wanting to remove the TT insert or are you able to get over the NVH?

I am kind of on the fence on getting this.

Twisted tuning said the R&D for making poly mounts and selling would be to much $$$ and not enough demand to make so he kept costs lower for an all aluminum, the NVH seems to have subsided a little, liveable, but still vibration in steering wheel that I hate...I have bad rear sub frame bushings in rear so that may be contributing to an increased nvh feel, will update when I take care of bushings, not for the faint of heart fix so give me some time

I might be interested but if you have followed Twisted Tuning, there seems to be some variations between the the transfer case mount inserts even when they have the same part numbers. You should make them aware.

Just curious can you point me to where they talked about this? I need transfer case mount but will not like any NVH that make come with it. Trying to see if I can get the twisted mounts and later switch to strongflex when ever they become available.

They are in R&D stage. I spoke with them last month on the 29th and are testing 80a and 90a solutions.

Glad to hear there are other options on the way. I thought the aluminium might be a bit to harsh for me.

Guys - What problem is solved by upgraded transfer case bushings? My Stage 2+ N55 X-Drive (60k miles) 'vibrates' under full throttle (seat of the pants, from the rear of the car). Should I be examining the t-case mount?
