Major accident.. 3 Months later car is still in body shop...

Basically some idiot ran a stop sign a couple months back. He hits me by the rear quarter panel/wheel, car spun and hit two other parked cars.

Car was pretty much banged up on all 3 corner. I took it to the shop the same day. The assistant manager told me that it'll take about a month to repair. Its been almost three months and they still haven't even ordered my bumpers...

I been calling once a week but always get a reply that they waiting on parts, parts came in damaged, snow causing delay blah blah blah... I don't want to be an ass as the guy knows my pops. What would you do if you was in this situation?

To all the body repair guru's how long does it typically take to repair the damages below?

Is it a big shop? It should take a months top, you even took it there the day of the accident. Is insurance giving them a hard time?

Not a big shop but they have a lot of car daily that comes through. Only reason I brought it there was cause of all the good reviews on Yelp. Insurance has already sent them a check and gave the ok on any aftermarket parts that needs to be replaced.

3 months is way too long! They haven't even ordered your bumpers? I would start researching how you can get your insurance money back and find another shop.

3 months is much too long, You should always have the insurance give you the check first.
Body shops and full payment prior to work completed = big delays

You should be asking this after 1 month. They need to step up! Does your insurance co. have you in a rental all this time? They will usually only pay for a rental for 30 days. GL, keep them honest.

Just say you'd rather take your car somewhere else now and then see if they have the parts!

Wrapped my car around a tree. Took 3 weeks to replace radiator, support, and EVERYTHING in front of it; including frame straightening.

Tell them you will order all the parts and do their job for them.

It sounds to me like they're just making excuses for not getting to your car.

This.

If you're not driving a rental then you should be. That'll get the insurance company to get the bodyshop moving.

You're doing something wrong then.

Since the accident wasn't your fault, the at fault insurance company has to pay for your rental car for the duration of the repair.

If you insist on that then the insurance company will light a fire under the body shop.

The guy that hit me admit he didnt see the stop sign . When I tried to file a claim with his insurance company he stated that I was speeding. My only option was to file it under my insurance company and let them battle it out. It ended up with a decision from a third party arbitration company which stated that the other guy was at fault.

Fine - so his insurance company picks up the tab - and pays for your rental for the entire duration of the car's bodyshop stay.
