When you start the car, on the dash it should tell you how many miles you have before you need to bring it in for an oil change. Typically its around 14,000 miles or one year. You should do your first on your own though around 2500. Oh, you can also find this information in your owners manual.

14000 miles that is great and much longer than the Japanese car.

But Does it give me a warning on the OBC to let me known that it is time to have the oil changes? I'm having 40000 miles on it right now.

You can also change in between those 14,000 miles.....but that will NOT be covered by the service plan....it only covers scheduled maintenance and services.....
as long as you do NOT reset the computer when you did the oil change....u only have to pay for the intermit oil changes....

I change my oil every 5000 miles myself and when I hit what the manual says I get a free one from BMW. Some people will argue go by the manual but since I own the car I would rather be safe and change it every 5000 miles.
