2008 335i 6MT 26K mi (Nav,Prem,Cld) $28K? [PICS]
Hey guys, my first post -- I'm looking into getting a 335i. Saw one listed for $28K. Has just about everything, minus the Sport Package.
2008 335i Coupe Manual Jet Black/Saddle Brown 26,000 mi Warranty till 2011/10/23 Nav Premium Cold Weather Rear Shade I looked at the service forms the dealer faxed over, and it shows it's already had an HPFP malfunction @ 16K and fuel injector permanent malfunction @ 17K. Not really big deal since BMW's extended the HPFP warranty to 120K I wouldn't have to worry about its out-of-pocket cost. Though, hope I never have to deal with an HPFP failure. For regular maintenance I have less than a year left on the warranty (10/2011). Does $28,000 seem like a good deal? I was seeing some posts mentioning $25.5-26 for this exact configuration (sedan). I really do want this car (or any 2008+ 335i E92 6MT). It'll will be my first BMW! It's not CPO and through a small dealer. Anyway to talk him down to $26K or would I be pressing my luck? Is it even worth pursuing? Appreciate any help or advice you guys can give me. Thanx! |

I would make sure that it's not a lemon. I've seen a lot of california lemons ending up in the east coast (being sold next to normal used cars) If it's not a cpo and is being sold at a small dealership, i would shoot for 26k. Besides the HPPF issues, 335 is a great car in all bodystyle. Very smooth, fun to drive, and efficient. You'll love it! and you'll be addicted to BMWs as my e93 is my fourth bmw in 6 years.

The BMW maintenance records shows: Code:

Here's what I'm thinking of mentioning. 1.) HPFP Failure (twice over two months) 2.) Doesn't have sport package 3.) Not CPO 4.) Last servicing was in 1/2010 (5K miles since) Anything else?? LOL I feel bad talking down this car. jeong, I definitely know I'm going to be addicted to this thing once I get it. I've been researching cars for over a year now. 370Z/G37/WRX... Even a Gen Coupe . I can't wait to get a E92! |

No sports pack would be a deal breaker for me. You lose the wheels, suspension and the seats. The non sport seats are pathetic. But hey, it's you car. Go with what works for you.

suspension is the same on sport/non-sport e92's. the wheels are different of course, and the seats do not have thigh support. Hope that helps, you're going to missing out on the seats if anything!

Didn't even think about the seats...wheels are an easy fix, but once you sit in those seats you won't be able to go without them, if you've never tried them and you don't mind sliding around like you're in the front seat of a Buick...then go ahead.

Coming from my sports package car into a non sport loaner.......I would NEVER buy a bmw without sports package just for the seats alone!
The difference is tremendous. Trust me. Alan

Just to reiterate, get the sports, the seats are just stellar.

+1 on the seats
I just went 180 miles away and spent extra $ to get one with the sport package when there was an otherwise identical one about 10 miles from me, but it was worth it to avoid buyer's remorse |

sport seats while look great might be less convenient for some not slim people, they really envelope thighs and back just FYI
and will wear out faster especially the drivers left bolster
