intermittent turn signal

been having issues with both headlight turn signals.

at first it was fixed by switching the left and right, then the right side wasnt working so i extended the contact point a bit and it worked.

then both stopped working all together, so i had to wiggle the turn signal housing a bit (so its not at full lock), which didnt work that well.

I ordered new turn signal housings but it both are still intermittent. now the right side stopped working all together.

my question is - does it sound like i need to buy new headlights? im guessing the contact points inside the headlights are fcked.

only thing i havnt tried is replace the rear tail light bulbs, which i hear can cause weird issues with the front lights.
