More E90 (E93) Mirror Problems
I had the folding mirror problem that seems pretty common, and followed most of the advice online to fix it. One day, the mirror magically locked into place and readjusted itself. Here's the situation now: The right mirrow folds/adjusts normally. The left mirror doesn't fold and cannot be adjusted by the buttons on the door, however, when switching postions with the seat memory, the mirror does move. So I know the motor and connections are good. Any ideas?

Unclip the Mirror with a Trim Remover Tool.
Then unbolt the Motor and clean the Pins. You can spray some Electric / Contact Grease and Everything should be fine ! |

Maybe you have to update your FRM3 module. Had similar problems where my windows lost their calibration after Reading Fault Memory.
Do you have an FRM3 ? |

Could it be the little switch for selecting what mirror you want to adjust is faulty?
Not making contact to select the left mirror, and this would explain why the mirror moves when switching seat memory. I would remove the mirror switch panel, open it up carefully and clean the button contacts with some rubbing alcohol. |

Oddly, I think lack of moisture is the problem. This is the second time I've driven the car in the rain since the problem started and both times everything has worked perfectly. So...

Moisture = connectivity, this sounds like you have a poor connector somewhere and the rain is bridging the gap.
Take out the mirror and take out the switch and clean both with rubbing alcohol. |

Yes, everything worked fine for a couple of days after the rain. After 2 days drying off in the garage, the problem returned. So yesterday I pulled it out of the garage and soaked the inside of the left side mirror with water. That caused the right side mirror to stop folding.
Now, after sitting in the garage overnight, everything is working correctly again. Just to reiterate, I previously took the motor out of the mirror and cleaned the contacts. Took the switches out of the door and looked at them but they weren't wet or looking worn so I put them back in. |

Not sure what to tell you other than closely inspecting the wires for any damage and making sure the driver side switch plug has clean contacts and seated well. Maybe get a multimeter and check the wiring??
