Egs codingHELP

Hi I have a 2009 328i auto it has a gm ga6L45 trans I got a steal of a deal on it because it has trans problems got it home and put it up on stands and crawled under and found someone ran over something and dented the trans pan I pulled it off and the electronics portion was broken im a spot so I found an identical car and pulled the whole valve body out and put it in my car and now it won't come out of park did some more digging and it looks like it needs to be coded is my understanding but I've never done that im familiar with my laptop and programs I've tuned my turbo e46 on my own or do I need like a launch scanner any help would be great thanks

You need WinkFP, as part of BMW coding tools.

You can then update the module and change the VIN- this is what's probably giving the error.

You also need a proper cable such as Bimmer Geeks Dcan cable.

It's complex at the start, but there's alot of info on this forum and if I can do it, anyone can.

Alternatively pay a mechanic to re-code the transmission.
