17X9 Options
What are people running, wheel, offset, and spacer wise, to run 17X9 square, other than the Apex Arc-8? I'm looking for lower cost options mainly for track use. According to tire rack there is no 17X9 option for our car but if you run searches on some one series you get a bunch of options. Tirerack says these don't clear the brakes on our car but if I'm going to run spacers anyway I'm thinking they will. Can anyone confirm fitment of these or other options when run with spacers?
Kosei K5R and K8R are both available in 17X9 et 45, $199,~17lbs TRMotorsport FF10 in 17X9 et 45, $177, 17.8 lbs If you're OK with 17X8.5, which I might be, you can do TRMotorsport C2, with a 40 offset for only $145 and 19lbs. Obviously Kosei K1s are an option at 8.5 but I'm curious what else is out there. Last edited by gavronm; 02-03-2016 at 10:33 AM.. Reason: Removed "other than Apex" from the post title. Don't want to make it seem like I have an issue with Apex when the point was just to find other options. |

We've noticed other members running 9" wide wheels up front with offsets between ET31-33.
The ET40 8.5" would fit also. Sales @ UPWheels.com * Ph. 657.888.4UPW * FacebookDOTcom/UPWheels |

OP, it sounds like you are looking for a lower cost option, but may not be aware that we are running a 17" ARC-8 Group Buy at the moment. I completely understand if a customer wants to go in another direction for various reasons, but I would hate to loose a customer who appreciates our quality but cannot afford the MSRP price points.
The 17x9 et30 is a direct fit, which does not require spacers. Furthermore there are many factors that go into brake clearance, some of which which spacers cannot solve (barrel clearance). I hope this helps - Ryan

That's mostly what I'm doing. The point is to identify things that work and then try to find a good deal. I made this post after finding a great deal on a set of used C2s but wasn't sure about fitment. Turns out they don't clear the brakes.
Here's what I've learned about the options listed above (primarily from the guys at tirerack, who are awesome): C2 and FF10 - don't clear caliper K5R fits with 18mm piloted spacer On the OEM side I've identified the options below. Many of the 17X9s also come in a 22 offset but that's probably not going to work on the front. Most of the really interesting ones didn't come as square sets to begin with, and only a handful of these are confirmed to clear our brakes. Center bores would also need to be confirmed. A square set of high offset style 19s look intriguing and the centerbores should be correct. I thought I'd found a set nearby but they were 8X17 fronts. (I'm not going to take the time to create a pretty table but each line below is the style, then the weight in kilograms, then the offset. Two numbers with a slash just means there are two versions, a low offset and a high offset) 17X9 style weight (kg) offset 10 ? 26 14 ? 26 16 11.92 26 18 12.18 26 19 9.6 26 20 ? 26 21 ? 26 32 ? 26 38 10.86 26 66 10.55 26 17X8.5 style weight offset 18 12 23 10.65 41 24 9.48 41 32 9.9 41 38 10.43 41 39 10.39 41 68 9.92 50 71 9.92/9.12 41/50 78 10.7 41 85 ? ? 86 ? ? 97 ? ? 161 10.2 37 188 10.7 37 194 10.7 37 286 10.7 39 292 12.02 40 340 11.7 37 395 11 47 Data above collected from www.bmwstylewheels.com |

Lol I run their 17x9.5 square and they are just great IMHO I think you have to sacrifice alittle bit of wheel build quality and integrity when reach below that price point

I bought the set I posted. Used a hub centric ring on them and they work perfect with a 275 tire.
