I want to settle down with one. Will be E90 and PRE LCI

I hear the turbos are always KO'ing on these, apparently if i change the turbo actuator i am fine? also the pressure converter (TURBO one not EGR) I will want to change this too as hear these are common

Anybody changed the turbo actuator? how much am i looking all in?

Anyone changed the turbo pressure covnerter? how much am i looking all in

This is not a common fault 335d thread as i know many will moan theres already detailed info on here but if anyone else in UK can add any 335d problems theyve come across and cost. ill be very grateful.
Hi mate, ive changed a few things between mine and my old mans 335d including

thermostats are common for bad MPG need to change the following, EGR stat £40 and Water pump main stat £60 and 3l of BMW coolant £11.50 per 1.5 took me around 40 mins to change on a saturday morning

Vacuum Line that run over the turbo's whole lot i bought enough to do both cars 3m blue, 3m black and 2m red silicone hose and it cost me £20 the job took me about 50 mins in the dark on mine and his once i knew the easiest way to get acsess took me 25mins

Pressure Converters
We had an issue with his not reving past 3800k no boost, no nothing checked the actuactor that was fine so had to be the converters

From BMW the parts including 2x convertes, 1x bracket for the new style convertes, 1x Pessure valve and the job took me 2 evenings after work 40mins a time as acess is very limited cost £230 in parts

Oil feed for the Turbo leak so i had to change that on my dads 5x banjo bolts, lots of copper rings and a few new pipes the lot from BMW cost £40 took me 20 mins to do

Hope this helps, if i think of anything else ill let you know

Regrads

Dan

Thanks for this. heard the turbo pressure converters are a very common fault, other than these how does your drive? any other problems. would you buy one again?

Very common (i think mine are failing) or my dads is mapped as his 60-100 takes 4.5 seconds mine takes 8 seconds so might get mine done just so i know its not really alot of money

mine drives fine i love it, i had a 500hp impreza before this and yeah i miss it alot but the 335d as an overal car is better, although i have been getting nearly as bad MPG recently 15 average due to my thermostats, but thats now back up to 32

im in no rush to change as it does everything i want it to, i have been tempted to buy another impreza but know ill miss the (luxuary)
