Hey everyone, was just browsing headlight bulbs and headlights and came across this particular headlight.
https://www.ebay.com/i/401355797384 Its made by Helix, which I havent heard of. Are they the same as Depo? Currently have halogen headlights and curious of upgrading them down the road maybe. (2010 328i Sedan) Does anyone have experience with these or know of some pointers and tips? If I dont change the entire housing, I will for sure install LUX bulbs for the rings. Thanks |

Closest copy of LCI Xenon I've seen, although they're not Xenon just projector. There's a few differences and as with all aftermarket lights I'd not put any hope on them being good at night. Visually they aren't bad as long as they don't look really cheap in person.

I searched for Depo and have found these:
https://m.ebay.com/itm/DEPO-Factory-...-/122514454268 They look like pre LCI but does say 09-11 |

If you end up buying these, please update the thread with pics!!! Very interested in trying these Depos or the Depo V3’s with the F30 style angel eyes.

I will for sure update when I do get them. I did ask the seller about if the LED rings act as the day time runners and they said it would be same as my current stock setup (high beam as daytime runner)
Now can I code my lights to have the LED rings as my daytime runners using Carly? (Need to purchase this someday) |

Hey everyone. I actually ordered these and received them today. I'm in Puerto Rico, so just glanced at them for the moment. Quick impressions were they looked good. I'll try and take pictures and update tomorrow.

Got those pics as promised. I did not take the entire plastic covers off as I don't want to scratch them before installing them, but I think they're good enough to give a better idea of their quality. Key comments: 1) The high beam does not have a reflector cover as oem xenon headlights so the hole and bulb will be visible. 2) The turn signal square yellow leds are visible but only from a straight, head-on view. The chrome/mirror surroundings do a good job of covering them up from all other angles. 3) On one of the halos (photo marked Halo) there is a small black blemish sooo slight imperfection there. Just like the turn signal leds, it's not something that jumps out on you. Let's hope it doesn't affect it when on. 4) The gray bottom cover underneath the two beams has a cutout just like the oem xenon headlights that is almost identical but just a little "uncleaner" and bigger underneath the low beam. Not a dealbreaker either. All in all, for 450 shipped from Cali to PR I think they're a great value and seem very well constructed. I have OEM Xenons, and must say they are pretty much identical. I will post as to their functionality as soon as I install them. Also, I considered the Rolling Gears lights but thought the halos looked off/too big on the E90 unless you had a bigger/more aggresive bumper such as a 1M and I like the contrast these make with my black saphire LCI better. Please, let me know if you'd like additional pics and if the album is visible. As soon as I install them, I'll update on this post. |

Actually look not bad for the money, although if your car has OEM LCI Xenons why have you bought them? They'll be annoying to fit as your car will want to be using Xenon bulbs etc rather than Halogens.
Will be interesting to see beam pattern and such. Shame it doesn't have some form of projector for the high beam also. |

Well, I was in a minor accident in which my left headlight was cracked open and eventually was rendered useless. Soldiered on trying to find a used replacement but prices were too high. Later on my right headlight projector popped out and although I was able to fix it, eventually the light went out (not sure if ballast or bulb) plus the ahl warning light came on (not sure if left or right) so I just gave up on them. Trying something new. I'm also gonna go with some led bulbs that are supposed to have a 360 degree pattern. Let's see how it goes. If anyone is interested in both oem headlights, with the ballasts and ahl motors for a project, hit me up.

I imagine to make these work you'd have to do a halogen retrofit, changing your FRM for a Halogen one and getting it coded to the car. It's a bit unexplored territory though.

Per the thread, Rolling Gears headlights were able to be installed on cars with oem xenons so I'm guessing these should be to. The AHL error would have to be coded out though.

The led bulbs should be delivered today so I just texted my buddy mechanic to see when we can tackle the project. Again, we're in the middle of the Maria crisis here in PR, so I don't really know his availability. If he's ok and has no previous appointments, probably this weekend or no later than this coming week. Fingers crossed.
