Vinyl for interior trim wrap?

I know a lot of members have DIY wrapped the interior trim in their cars to carbon fiber, etc. I don't really like the look of CF, so I'm looking at brushed aluminum vinyl. But so far everything I'm finding (trying to stick to 3M 1080 as it gets good reviews) has the grain of the pattern running the width of the vinyl sheet, not the length. Anyone know of any good options? I'd prefer something like a middle grey as far as the brightness, and textured.

I know you're opposed to CF, but would you consider a silver CF? That's what I wrapped my interior trim and it looks spectacular. It's not too shiny at all - it's more on the dull/flat side. Still has the texture too. Just an option!

I'd consider it! Do you have a link for what you bought?

Yup! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's not the best quality for vinyl wrapping, nothing compared to 3M or others. I bought this one specifically because a 7x5 foot roll is only $20, so I didn't consider it a huge loss. For the price, it turned out well. There are many other silver CF options around on Amazon and Ebay with better quality. I can post some pictures of my interior if you want!

I'm almost positive my 3M 1080 Brushed black had the grain going length wise. I had to do the main center trim piece, and the E92 doors all with the grain going side to side.

I think I should just buy it in the store (somewhere?) to confirm because 99% of the 1 star reviews for all the brushed silver/aluminum vinyl I'm looking at is complaints about how the brush lines go with the width of the vinyl, not the length. Agh.

Nice, I actually ended up ordering my vinyl from that place yesterday before I saw your post!

Wow, they completely fucked me. Website clearly says "Pattern Runs Length"
https://www.metrorestyling.com/Produ...e=3M1080-BR120

And what I received, pattern runs width (like I was trying to avoid):

To top it off, they don't accept returns, and if for any reason they do, they charge a "20% restocking fee". Fortunately I bought through PayPal...so hopefully they take my side in the dispute. So...still in need of vinyl.
