Well, Its Time

On Friday I received a large box containing a pair of catless down pipe's, On Saturday I drove up to Braintree and picked up the Intercooler from Dom and this morning the induction kit arrived along with the new PCV Valve, just waiting for the charge pip to land then its full on performance modding......

Fun and flipping games

Some thing is not wright, last Friday and Saturday I decided to start on the performance mods, SO, Intercooler from Dom, PCV and BMW filters and catless down pipes.

The intercooler is a direct replacement, BUT although it will go in on the right side it wont slide on to the pipe on the left side, I think the pipe is now oval and the seal needs replacing, that's down to me being hand fisted, also I put a big crack in the fan shroud again, me being hand fisted. I also found 2 oil leaks, I thought the PCV was leaking so that was replaced with the BMS upgrade but it looks like an oil leak behind the gear box and a power steering fluid leak,

This means I need to remove the front bumper to replace the fan shroud and fit the intercooler with a new boost pipe going up to the charge pipe, the charge pipe is being replaced with a metal C/Pipe as that arrived yesterday. The only plus in removing the bumper is that I can remove the head lights and have them upgraded with brighter angle rings.

Its a good job I have a work shop where she is parked up out the way over winter.

It was all going so well, on a positive atleast you have somewhere to keep it and you don't need it every day. Hopefully nothing serious on the leaks.

It's never great when things like this happen. I've been in the same boat a few times so understand.

Along with being able to see where the front badge was they were told to sort it out. Now I got the car back this Saturday, it looked lot's better but it needs direct sunlight to see if its all been resolved.

Any way, bit of a bizzy sunday

I had a mates 116d in for a service, oil/filter, air and pollen filter, fit new gloss black grills and a general clean up and polish

AND I finally fitted the ARKYM Look front splitter to the car, had this for several weeks but I needed some one to help fit it, or rather hold it in place while I did the drilling and bolting it up in place, its a very good fit and in no time it was up and in place, I also did the cowl filter replacement thing.
where did you get the front lip from? it looks gloss black to me and all i can seem to find is carbon fibre ones!!

BTW lovely car, really like the colour and the gloss black touches really set it off

The 335 is still waiting to be sorted but I went in and turned her over, and did a trial fit of the rear spoiler lip thingy today. The lip thing is a spot on fit when it's bonded down so looking forward to sorting that out.

I need to start taking the front end off to replace the fan cowling (That I Broke) and I can then get the head lights done, new intercooler and charge pipe then get the down pipes replaced, hopefully ready for show season

Frustrating Times

Josh, I got the front lip from BMW Racing Parts, email him or call, the lip is fiberglass and is a very good fit.

It's been a struggle and I have finally bit the bullet and given my car to a mechanic friend who is going to carry out the repair work to the car due to me being ham fisted and inpatient and he can do what I can not.

Replacing the fan shroud coss I broke it, fitting a new boost pipe coss I damaged that as well so thought better to fit a new one. fitting some catless down pipe's, uprated charge pipe and the intercooler.

Well, after almost 3 month's of being off the road, having all the broken bits replaced, all the performance bits fitted, then the first attempt at getting it mapped, having to drive away in limp mode and replacing all 6 plugs, coils, and replacing the rocker cover gasket due to the copious amounts of oil just sitting there, the 335 finally got mapped last Friday, It was going so well but the lambda sensor was giving false reading so I now need to replace that and then go back for a slight tune up, some proper runs and then I should be able to confirm performance readings and stick up a graph of before and after..... I know that its very quick right now and she pulls like a train....

This was on the way to the Ace Café on Saturday, one of the lads did a cheeky rolling shot as I went past....
