Buying a new 330i-- tuning options?

Hello to everyone on this forum.

I used to be all the time at mbworld forums because since young Mercedes has been in my family. Now i will be getting a new car for college and BMW 330 is my choice (the C350 is coming out to late for when i need the car).

I will be ordering a 330 with the following options:

Titanium silver - black leatherette with aluminum trim

Sport package
automatic transmission
park distance control.

I test drove the car (BMW of Peabody) and it was amazing. The car braked like an M3 and handled almost the same. I am looking forward to picking it up in September.

I will want to modify the car just a bit. I am wondering what do you guys suggest for an air intake and perhaps a chip. Is there already companies with tuning packages?

thanks,

BD

Congrats on your purchase. Good decision picking the 330 rather than waiting for the MB. There will be lots of aftermarket tuning options for this car... there'll be products from Hamann, AC Schnitzer, Racing Dynamics, Dinan and from all sorts of other smaller companies. check out this thread jwocky posted with links to the aftermarket companies.

Dinan doesn't have anything out yet for the E90 but they definitely will. I know e46 owners had good experiences with the Dinan chip and dinan also matches the factory warranty for cars using their mods, i believe. Also since they're located in the US and have a close relationship with the dealers, that should make you feel safer.

Keep checking in on the forum i'm sure there'll be plenty of options and soon.

I did a search and remembered this post about the Upsolute chip for the 6 series originally posted by jhbodle.

The engine goes from 258hp stock to 284hp! I thought that was pretty impressive just from a chip remap. Hopefully that means I could potentially get around 240hp from my E90 325i if I wanted to!

A new 330i for college? You must be going to Dartmouth.
