Not bad though for the price, huh?
The top edge is tight. I can certainly live with it considering the price!!!

It's a good find..thanks again.

I'm sure you can scuff the surface of them and rattle can them with some high temp paint. Make sure you scuff the paint pretty well with some high grit sandpaper though, so it adheres to the surface and it doesn't chip off later.

Oh, and post up a pic of it after you do it!

Glad everyones liking this mod so far. Its been around a month for me since I put them on and they still look great!

Thumbs up It Works!

Just got my car back from the shop, and as my first officially post, Figured I'd confirm that this DOES in fact work. Make sure you have the part number on hand (as the people at my local O'Reilly were not terribly knowledgeable). I'm going to take a trip down to Home Depot to get some smaller bolts as the ones they come with are unsightly.

Installed mine, but even with the shortest bolts, they stick out a little bit. I wish they could be completely flush. They look great otherwise....

Just put a bolt in a vise and hacksaw a piece off the end, worked great, flush as flush can be.

Yeah, cutting them would be your best option, as the amount of space between the tips and your old exhaust is very small. However, even if it does stick out a little bit, its hardly noticeable unless you actually get down there and look. I kept the original screws on for a week or so and everyone that I showed the tips to didn't even notice!

I'm glad everyone's enjoying the "frugal" mod. As for myself, I should be purchasing a custom quad exhaust system to use in conjunction with a quad cutout bumper on my e90 here shortly! In the meantime, I'll continue to enjoy my $10 mod that makes the exhaust tips look 10000x better than the OE piping.

Thanks for the awesome tip. Got mine today, Looks as good as oem. To resolve part of the sticking out screw, I only used 1 of the screw and hid them in an angle that it won't be too visible. I don't think it'll fall off that easy even w/ just 1 screw on. Oh well, it's only $4.99 each to replace.

Thanks again!!!!!!

Got mine yesterday. Could only find 3/8" length machine screws at the local Home Depot and those stick out quite a bit.

To remedy the situation, I put 2 of the screws in but pointed them up. The inside screws (the ones pointing towards the opposite exhaust pipe) were hand tightened. The outside screws were set up basically directly with the bottom of the bumper so I tightened those with a small screw driver as tight as I could.

There is still a little bit of a "show" with this method but looks much cleaner than OP's picture, IMO.

Is there any way to sticky this? I think it's insightful information for 325 owers.

Gotcha. Yeah I have the sport package. Didn't realize the polished tips was a part of the package on the e90.

If that's the case then this is a really good deal, because I can't really tell the difference between these and my sport package tips. My tips go past the bumper a bit too.
