Electric Fan Replacement

Hey all,
I actually have a 128, but getting any type of response on that board is impossible. Anyway, I was wondering, has anyone done an electric radiator fan swap? I did not actually weigh the stock unit, but I am pretty sure I can drop at least 10 lbs by going to a different fan.
Mostly what I am wanting to know, is what to do as far as wiring. Mounting is not a problem.
Thanks in advance.

It might set a fault code. The factory fan is a multiple speed fan that adjust to engine performance and driving conditions.

If you still want to replace it make sure the new fan pulls the same amount of air. The factory fan is really strong at full speed

First off, That took a while to go thorough. An impressive car. But, I get to page 30, and it still has the stock fan.

If he didn't do it, then most likely there is no point on doing it. Our cars are not like e46 where you had 2 fans and removal of the mechanical one freed up 10hp.

Oh, there is a point. Just because someone has not done it, does not mean there isn't a point. 8lbs off the car from in front of the front axle is something I am interested in. Don't really care about HP at all.

It is going to happen. Not 100% sure how yet, but I am getting a list of tuning options together at the moment. This will likely be on it.
I was really just hoping it had been done previously to save some time. I have to have the car ready for the track at the end of march, and the less I have to develop, the better.
