So I drove 35 kms on highway 15... Hope it recharged the battery. If it doesn't start tomorrow, then I'll have to buy one. Maybe one of those skinny/light ones.

Driving the car was pure pleasure. My first event is Mosport on April 25-27th.

Going to visit Seb soon to get her ready.
I can lend you my battery charger so you can give it a try, as one of its functions is to 'repair' the battery if required. It helped with 2 of my cars and I extended the battery life for many years, both still working

My BMW is 2007 with original battery! I had a car with 12 year old battery and was still good, which I changed only for safety reasons, but was still going strong when i changed it. Not to generalize, but sometimes age doesn't necessarily means it'S bad.....

For the $100 bucks I would bring it back to someone who did it before. It is a bitch of job. I wouldn’t just want anyone doing this job on my N54/55.

Trickle charger? I leave the battery on trickle charge most of the winter. I'm curious to see if the green machine will start - battery is 13 years old - I was tempted today, I'll tell ya. I'll fire her up on Friday and see how it goes. I still have to replace my muffler.

didn't use it last winter and the car started easily... slight hesitation only.

So this year I did the same. Going to take it out in a few minutes and see if it starts.

Did you just plug it in and go, or did you have to do any re-programming, etc?

I love how there's threads that go on for months on this very forum about whether that works or not, whether you need to pay the dealer to recode, or buy a cable to reprogram the ECU, and this man here just plugs and goes

The car will work just fine with a new battery without resetting the ECU. The issue is that the ECU might overcharge the battery and this will shorten the battery life.

Too late now! The usual process it to charge the battery fully, then test it for maintaining charge....

Usually if no charging the whole winter the battery will die out. If you opened the door at one time, the fuel pump will prime and this uses significant amount of battery, open it a few times and pretty sure battery will get low/drained if not charged.

I used the easy way out. There are no electrical plugs near my parking spot. too much hassle.

I had the walnut blastin done yesterday by the MR guy, it went very smoothly, he even let me do my brakes while he was cleaning the intake, car runs great now, he did it for 300, which is a great deal.
There is no fancy ass furniture or investment magazines but he did a great job and took good care of my car, he also does it for VWs. PM me if you want his contact.

Interesting wear. All four disks you say? Same place and same wear?

I've had that due to a chunk of pad breaking off. But all four, same place? Perhaps the pads were manufactured with that flaw or someone installed them wrong.
