lmao thank you ... I wasn't able to pass by the shop at night but I got this picture from the morning. We lined up the bumper panels and staple-welded them together. Next is plastic welding/bonding them together using adhesive and plastic material. Then shave everything down best as possible. From there we can prep and hopefully primer tomorrow. Will get you guys some pics tomorrow.
Muffler is off. Undertray is gone. Quarter panels have been seam sealed. Haven't relocated the EVAP canister yet. I know you guys hate me for these lame a5s posts.

Love this build!!!
I'm local to NY/CT if you need any help. Worked for BMW for 16 years and now at Miller Motorcars. Let me know if I can help. This is such a sick build. E91 ///M has always been a dream to have for me.

This build is madness... MADNESS!
I've always had a soft spot for wagons and really appreciate when someone takes the time to bring out the potential in one. This one, Sir, is an excellent example. Your concept is solid, your solutions to problems along the way are elegant and your work is impeccable. I'm enjoying following your progress and eagerly await the finished product. Thanks for sharing |

Thanks. I'm dying to see this done lol. I've never been so patient during a build. I think it'll be worth it.

PROGRESS... bumper is in working primer. So we used a combination of plastic welding with semi-rigid plastic repair epoxy. I'm really happy with the evercoat. The texture and feel is exactly what I was hoping for to keep rigid with a little give. Once it cured it was fully sanded down. It came out practically perfect with very little need of a filler. The top design line that wraps around from the E91 bumper has now been shaved to disappear in the ends. Its in primer now as you can see, just light coats. The next step is ensuring the bumper has zero defects, prepping and primering again. I am also doing the PDC rear retrofit so we have to drill out the holes. I have the entire retrofit kit thanks to pepsih. I believe the jams will be in paint by Friday. Rear end should be painted next week. I'm really hoping the cosmetics are ready in two weeks.

Absolutely loving the progress!
Super impressed with that Frankenstein rear bumper! Interesting to see a shop handle that, in my experience most shops tend to shy away from custom work like that lol

I wanted to snap some pics so you can see how tucked in the stock wheels really are. Its definitely nothing earth shattering but its significant. Finally installed the OEM M3 Mirrors. I sent out my CIC and a few modules to marius76 to get them configured. I'm also doing the PDC Retrofit, obviously doing the Xenon conversion, and adding 6FL with Apps and all that jazz. Just a note. A buddy of mine asked me why I didn't just buy aftermarket parts. Truth be told is as I'm getting older I'm understanding how important it is to do things properly. And for me, having chicken wire, fiberglass anything, or weird fitment its just not something I'm willing to accept anymore. There is a bonus shot of my buddy's i8 at the end. We went for a cruise with a ton of lambos and other exotics.

Well I haven't posted any updated because I've been busy. I also traveled for a bit. And more importantly I decided I wanted to repaint the entire car. It just didn't seem right to have a brand new front end and that's it. So the entire car including the front end was repainted. Also painted the roof jet black. And lastly... I did have the entire car sprayed at once but for whatever reason we had weird paint/clear reaction in the booth so we had to respray a few parts a bunch of times. The rear bumper had to be reworked a few times because we had some funky waving. The reassembly begins tomorrow. The car has not been wet sanded, buffed and polished yet... and the paint job is so good you couldn't tell. Titanium Silver is a real pain in the ass BTW.
