Make an Inline 6 sound completely different?

Hey guys,

Thought just popped into my head but, there are 4 cylinders out they're that sound like v8's and 5 cylinders out they're that sound like v10's, could you possibly make a 6 cylinder sound like a v12 exhaust wise?

Would be interesting to see if someone has tried this before, and what the end result was.

Swap it out for a V12 easiest way.

I would like to hear this 4 pot that sounds like a v8. You've got a turbo so good luck with that. A natural 6 with equal length headers to a straight pipe might sound crazy but I dont know what you mean by "sounds like v12".

runner length tuning and some clever nonsense with the resonators and stuff.
For example, 2004 VW R32, sounds great from factory. Take out mid-pipe res trying to make it sound "more", sounds like crappo.
Saab c900T (the one with the backwards engine), straight-piped it, sounded like an unholy union of a WRX and a boat due to the log manifold (4 different length exhaust primaries).
Speaking of WRX, go listen to one with equal length headers... is that an Integra with a misfire?!
Its probably way more than youre willing to spend for such a seemingly trivial aspect of your happiness.

Doesn’t make any sense why anyone would want to change the exhaust to make it sound completely different. Just wouldn’t be cost effective especially if it has no effect on performance, but if that person has the money to spend, or is rich like Bill Gates, then they can do whatever makes them happy. If nobody has done it on this earth, I’m sure somebody a gazillion miles away in an alternate parallel universe has done it.
