CIC iDrive controller "select" doesn't work

Just upgraded to CIC from CCC, tried 2 different controllers and can't select anything on my iDrive menu. Any suggestions?
Other buttons work

possible issue with can messages. are your can bus wires twisted from controller to cic ?

No twisted wires anywhere. Just plugged the old CCC controller and it works when you press "Select"
