Secret for 600 whp

Hey guys, first post here. I have a 2011 335d that is currently full deleted and making around 300-350 wheel, custom tuned by me. I’m looking and getting some more power out of it. Why is the secret to get around 600 whp for these things. I know that I’ll need turbos and an r90 but what else do i need?
Thanks

You'll need a lot more then a R90 and some hybrids.

You'll need a dual pump kit (Santjer) and some big injectors and most likely some nitrous.

I hope this isn't your DD.

How about the rail pressure sensor from the m550d?

Hope you have deep pockets!

The triple turbo kit should be available in the next 6 months, again from Santjer
that would give you the power level that you want.

With dual pumps, 100 over injectors, springs, and hybrids non stock airfilter and upgraded IC you'll be over 500. then you can always add power adders ( meth/nitrous ).

Where do you guys recommend getting all these parts from. I didn’t know Santjer was coming out with that will definitely look into it. I was also looking at the manifold that Whitbread is working on to fit a t4 turbo on the low pressure side

Honestly I would just pick a different platform or engine. The S65 or N54 can get above 600 whp EASILY and are available in the E9X chassis.

Will you be able to do it with an M57 sure, but it's not going to be cheap.

MMMMMMNnnnnnnnooooooooooo

As someone who owns a well sorted, reliable, 550whp (for 5 years) N54. I would much rather push the M57 engine than N54 or S65 for that matter. Is a triple turbo, dual HPFP, larger injector setup expensive? Relative to the price of a high mileage clapped out 335D that someone might use a reference, yes.

Want to see the value? Consider those mods will get you 4 digit output in 1,000+wtq. Think about the other vehicles you can modify and get 4 digit output on a stock block, either 1,000+whp or 1,000wtq. What does it cost to get those vehicles to those levels? You are either looking at stupid expensive cars or expensive cars where you are also paying $10,000+ to MAYBE hit 1,000whp. GO snag that clapped out 335D for $6k, put $15k of mods and maintenance into it, and you have a weapon of a car for the price.

Let's not forget the M57 will be exponentially more reliable than either of the engines mentioned and also be getting 30+mpg. I average 11mpg/tank on my N54 running full ethanol.

One last point. 600whp in an M57 would likely mean 800+wtq. 600whp with an S65 means you have a small sack up peanuts as your useable torque. Also, it takes $10,000 to get 550whp from an S65, I'll pay $5,000 more to get 700+whp and 1,000+wtq, excellent fuel economy, and great reliability from the M57.

Agree to disagree.

M57 swap your ride if it is SOOOOOOO much better I kid.

Getting to 600whp is well documented and there are thousands of n54s and S65s there or higher. M57s? Maybe a handful?

It is 7k just for the fueling upgrades. Hybrid twins + single turbo kit I assume 8k or more? + full deletes + tune + transmission tune. I am saying a balls out m57 would not be cool, it is just rare, semi unproven, etc. There are just much easier, proven, and less expensive ways to 600whp on the e9x platform.

S65 + used SC
N54 + China twins + pi plate + walbro 450

I own one that is deleted and tuned. It is not like I don't enjoy the improvements or progression of the m57 platform. I hope to see it progress and the costs come down. As it is now the cost to get to 600whp is extreme vs the other engines available in the E9X chassis to get to the same whp and there are proven paths on how to get there. That is and still will be my point.

Let me know the total cost if and when you hit 600whp on a dynojet in shootout mode. You will be one of a very small handful who have achieved this.

A 800wtq/600whp e9x would be tons of fun and a tire shredder. I doubt you can fit large enough rubber to take advantage of the low end tq. The e9x has small tires sizes available given the potential power output.

How does it do on a track? Oil starvation issues? Cooling? The n54 sucks on the track for instance.

When did I say I wanted 600whp? The OP wants to hit 600whp, and you're telling him it's not worth his time. Who are you to tell him it's not worth it? He can do whatever he wants with his money. Not everyone thinks like you do. Some people like diesel platforms over gas platforms. So lets keep this thread on topic now…. The title is the secret for 600whp (meaning through the m57 platform), not tell me the cheapest way to get a 600whp bmw.

OP should shoot for 450whp and a 200shot. Cheapest and most reliable.

Yes, agree to disagree. The (serious) M57 tuning market is young so once there are more triple turbo dual HPFP M57s running around, the superiority will be clear.

As for M57 swap. I am keeping my current N54 E61 and am building another E61 with an M57. I already have an E60 M5 LSD with a super rare 2.65 210mm ring pinion from a manual V12 E31 (1 or 300 or so imported into the US). So to answer your question; yes, I am. lol.

So the fastest M57s around (which are in Europe) aren't considered to be 'serious' tuners? It's like people forget these engines have been around long before 2009.

Actually I believe Santjer performance has the fastest m57 around currently 🇺🇸
