Thats a whole lot of issues ive never dealt with in 8 years of ownership, not even half. However I did do preventative maintenance through out every year and that's kept it reliable. Sorry to hear all that as it is such a handsome bmw.

o2 sensors failed and had to be changed.
car has a continual miss when cold regardless of coils, injectors, servicing etc. and cant find what the problem is.
cam cover gasket leaked and changed.
dct gearbox weeping from both pans quoted nearly $3k to do.
radiator leaked had to be changed.
diff bearing failed and had to swap for low km diff.
rear window regulator failed and had to change.
continual problem with convertible roof limit switches and roof not locking properly when folded away every now and then (have to open and close it a couple of times before it clunks loudly into place and locks).
Junction box failed and had to be changed.
LPFP sensor failed and had to be changed.
Water leaking into the battery well (cant find the leak).
Wastegates rattle like crazy (pretty sure they come from the factory like that lol).
Constant CELs for no reason which come and go as they please without me resetting anything.
Now the car is sitting idle with a coolant leak coming from what is suspected to be the rear turbo coolant return line, in which case i have to pull half of the car apart just to get to it, and from what i have been told, i might even have to remove the rear turbo just to get the line out!!!

And im sure there is more i have tried to forget about.

And i haven't even gotten to half of the "Normal" problems these cars have like water pump, lpfp, hpfp, coolant reservoir, oil filter housing gasket, alternator etc etc....

So rather than just drive it whilst waiting for the next inevitable problem to rear its ugly head, im just guna cut my (substantial) losses and move on.

Basically BMW have engineered an over-complicated rattly sieve on wheels plagued with electrical and mechanical problems that looks good. Which is a shame because when the car doesn't have problems (which is not very often), it is a stunningly beautiful car to drive.
Man that is a long list and some bad luck. I can understand just having enough of that. They're beautiful cars, JDM stuff might be fast but can feel so cheap and nasty by comparison with hard scratched plastics everywhere and a general lack of anything close to refinement. But they work. As a daily it's hard to go past a cheap reliable Japanese car.

Yeah i know
Im not looking at a fast JDM car for a daily, I already have one of those as a weekend warrior.
Im actually looking at a 2010 - 2012ish Toyota Crown Majesta G-Type F-Package.
Not a particularly pretty car, but the interior and the options are pretty up there.

I know lexus are boring and has no soul but IS350 sport MY11 shape is very reliable and fast. Picked one up for a friend few months back with 25000 kms on the odo for 28k. Low maintenance car for upcoming 5-10 years and very comfortable.

Yeah the Toyota im looking at is basically a top of the line (for then) comfort car with a 4.6L V8 Not a sporty car, but i do a lot of highway driving and want to be comfortable.

Nice, good luck mate. Being an import insurance/claims could be difficult for replacement parts etc so not every company covers them. That's the only negative I can think of. Either way it is a low cost vehicle.

Shouldn't be too bad. Ive owned an import for the last 15 years.
But yeah, the low cost will be a big benefit

Now that would be pretty cool.
I'll just be happy with some rims and an exhaust.
Come to think of it, I'll be happy if it runs for a week without chucking a CEL lol
