Prolong n54 Injectors?

Pretty simple, 150K miles on original injectors for n54. 1000$+ is just not feasible right now unfortunately, any refurbished ones out there to clear me a few months ? Don't mind doing the labor and coding them just insane price for a set of index 12s. Suggestions to prolong mine a couple more moths maybe ? Misfires on cold start, jerky driving, its been on the base map for a couple months and that helped a little. New coils and plugs already installed last week

Subscribed. I'm in the same boat and have not had to touch the injectors and hope not to have to. I clean the valves regularly and have started adding Redline injector cleaner. You can probably get the Techron easy in the US though...eager to hear anything else.

I was in the exact same boat as you a few weeks ago.. I bought cheap refurbished eBay index 9s and theyre working great so far, even on my custom 18 psi tune. It's not a permanent solution, but it will hold you over until you have the money.

Which injectors are bad? All of them....or just a few? Have you tried running some techtron fuel system cleaner in your tank??

Haven't tried Techron, will look into it for sure! Simple as pouring in a bottle to the tank? Thanks in advance!

I added Techron to a nearly empty fuel tank. By the time I drove to a gas station for fuel, my misfires were cured. I have 3 Index 9 injectors and the other three on 4, 5 and 6 are Index 12.

Have you tried any techtron? You might luck out. It's a lot cheaper than a half dozen injectors.

Bought a 12 fl.oz bottle of Techron fuel system cleaner concentrate. Had about 1/4 left in the tank added the whole thing, and filled up with 93. Will report back with results in the next couple days. Thank you peoples!

Tech tron is good it's what the BMW dealer uses.

Redline is really good.

I'm using Liqui Moly right now. Anything with PED is a good cleaner, from what I've read.

I run a bottle of cleaner every 6 months.

As far as getting 175,000 to 200,000 on OEM injectors on an N54. Good luck 🍀

While I am sure Techron is a nice thing to do once in a while just to make sure it's fully clean how does that help fix issues. AFAIK the issues with the injector is not clogging or dirty but just the internals becoming weak over time and leaking.

I have a friend u just replace one injector and coded it correctly and he's fine. So you might just want to do that, it's gonna be around $2-300 an injector I think

I know a guy who ran index 1's for 130k miles. no issues.

ended up swapping to index 12 just cause. don't think his injectors were even leaking.

now the index 1's sit in a box as a souvenir lol
