A little upset. I got my car back this morning..
I didnt notice it at first because I had my windows up and listening to my music. Soon as I pulled into my office downtown, I turned my music off and I could clearly hear the chirping nosies still on the left side only I called PEAKE BMW. The tech who worked on my car is going to be calling me. |

And why the eff would they release the car back to you if the sound is still there. They should have tested it, main roads and the highway.

Maybe a loose lining? Doubt that it would be it, but may be worth a try?

if you are going to bounce it forward and back versus side to side, it is easier to bounce the car with the hood open, instead of pushing directly on the hood, push part of the frame in front of the engine.

Ok here's a video.. You can clearly still hear the SAME noise when I turn the car . Im starting to think its steering related...
I live in New Orleans, so its time to devote my attention to Champion Square. Geaux Tigers Feedback is appreciated. Thanks guys (and Mandy) |

Well this sucks. In the last video, were you braking or just turning? Do you feel anything in the steering wheel when this happens? Try turning all the way right and then all the way left (while driving to duplicate the noise) and see if the noise is there. Could also be the front driveshaft. If your car isnt all wheel drive, then forget all of this lol
I had an annoying squeak @ slow speeds on my car but not when braking. It was the rubber on the front CV boots causing the squeek. A little lube on it and its gone. But like I said, if you do not have AWD, then this wont apply either. Its very hard to diagnose this noise through a video. I doubt its a suspension component, it sounds rotational. |

It's going back to the dealership. Strange that this never happens when I'm turning right. |

Yeah, now that she's mentioned it's whenever she turns the wheel I doubt it's brake related.
Okay, just to recap, you hear a chirping sound when coming to a slow stop you hear a chirping sound when you turn your wheel This has been occuring only when driving Could it be steering column related? Sara have you noticed this chirping sound when you drive over a speedbump or something similar to?

Sara- Does it make it when you turn left or right, both ways, one way? I'm assuming its there when you are driving straight as well? It could be so many different things. Could be a weak belt tensioner causing the belt to "slip" squeel or make the power steering pump make noise on turns. Ive also seen the steeering shaft u joint bind up when turning. But this usually causes a binding feeling when turning. It still could be something with the brakes, something rubbing when braking that may have been overlooked by the tech. |

I did some investigation. Juiced, you mentioned about you having to replace your driveshaft because on the Xi's....but this doesn't mention about the Xdrive 3 series...
http://www.thecarconnection.com/news...eshaft-problem Could this be it?

Don't feel bad, it's not the first time they return a car back to a customer with the same problem after throwing a bunch of parts at it. Happened to me twice. To add insult to injury, the second time they broke and left oil marks on an interior trim piece. It was replaced after I lost my mind on them, but it happens. Don't be surprised if it's not fixed the second time either.
