Yeah that actually is a massive gain. I have wasn’t looking at the whole curve in enough depth. But that would explain why it pulls way harder than it ever has to redline. No more drop off of power which makes it a lot more fun to drive.

I have a Fuel It Stage 2 Bucketless LPFP. Would you recommend E40 or E50? I can bump it up slowly but I’d have to buy multiple new tunes.

The tuner I'm using has said that going any higher on the ethanol content will only make the HPFP work harder...and not provide any gains. E40 seems to be about perfect. On a side note....Rob said that the RB TWO's at 25-ish psi boost should be in the 550-575ish hp range.....those Pure 600's should be about the same I would think. But, like others have said....peak HP isn't everything, it's the entire curve. Keep working with Ken.....he knows his stuff. |

Yeah....you just need to have Ken dial in more boost. Just keep an eye on your HPFP pressures when you log your 3rd gear pulls.

Not that it justifies his response......but if your traction control is on and causing log issues....I can understand his frustration.
Just keep working with him...it sounds like he's willing to bump up the boost. |

Traction control or not, that has nothing to do with asking if the tune is conservative or not. Both my emails with questions have been responded to as if they’re a waste of time.

I was looking at using Ken or Justin (V8 Bait) to do the tunes on my car...and went with Justin. He's been awesome as far as telling me what he's doing, why he's doing it, and asking me what I like/don't like....and then making more revisions to keep dialing things in until I'm happy. That stinks your having issues with Ken....I've only heard great things about him...until now. |

You are on the 2nd revision, why even go to the dyno if the tune wasnt finished ? You made a thread complaining about the lack of power yet you never mentioned that its only the 2nd revision, impatient much ?? are you going to dyno it after the 3rd revision as well ?

The first to plead his case seems right, Until another comes and examines him. - Proverbs 18:17
That reply by Ken sounded a bit rough, but something tells me we haven't heard the whole story. It's very odd that you went to the dyno when you know your tune isn't finished. It's also very odd that you didn't mention the tune wasn't finished when you asked for advice about your dyno numbers. Some might consider this to be a waste of their time since you left out relevant information. Perhaps you have said a few odd things to your tuner and so he's been a little short with you out of frustration. The best thing to do would be to reconcile with him and politely ask if he can answer a few of your questions. I'd guess you've come off as being out to get him a little, based on what we've seen here, and that's not going to get you very far.

As I stated previously, this thread was NOT about me vs Ken. It was seeing what people thought about the tune and the dyno. I had asked multiple times if it was conservative or what kind of tune it was and didn’t receive a response. Hence me posting this.
I’m not rushing the process by getting a dyno. I didn’t get answers to my questions so I went to get some data of my own. A $100 dyno isn’t going to kill me to do a few times during the process. Perhaps I would’ve been happy with it and requested not to turn up the boost. Or maybe I did want more out of the turbos. Those are decisions I can make with dyno information and outside perspective. Let’s not turn this into something it’s not. I responded to peoples questions about why I was asking here and not to the tuner directly anymore. Thanks for all the responses. |
