Max power on 92 octane only

I'm curious what I could expect the max power to be using just pump 92 octane gas? I don't have access to E85 and not setup with WMI (yet) so will be running straight 92 (until I decide I need WMI). I ordered a PS2 and currently have a JB4 + BEF, 7" FMIC, catless dp and all plastic piping replaced with upgraded pipes. I understand there are a lot of variables like air temp, humidity, altitude, gas quality, etc. but wondering a ballpark of what to expect with the PS2 and only 92 octane. I know I'll probably need a "real" tune to take full advantage of the PS2, but one thing at a time.

I was trapping 112mph with 92 octane only and the PS2 (FBO). I never dynoed the car with the stock turbo and when I hit the dyno I was spraying methanol. I would have guessed I was putting down about 380whp.

Something to keep in mind is although this is a peak power number the curve is changed with the new turbo. It will pull all the way to red line and is much more satisfying than the stock turbo.

Thanks for the response and the curve changing is the main reason I'm going with the PS2. I recently switched from auto-cross to track days and feel the PS2 will help with the track days, and my wife and I like to go to the drag strip on occasion, where they have 100 octane gas. I was just wondering what I can expect from normal pump gas.

The issue you face at the drag strip is IATs. By the time you get staged the IATs are often 100+ so you are likely to have timing pulled on the back half. That is the main reason I added a methanol kit to my car.

I haven't tracked my car on a course so I don't know how well the 7 inch intercooler alone does. You are constantly moving though so the intercooler can do its job.

We only drag race for the fun of it, my wife prefers that over track days or auto-cross as it's easier to do.

The 7" FMIC may help some during a track day but according to the logs the IATs are about 140* at the end of the front-straight (where I'll get about 135 mph before braking) and that's using the OEM intake. I don't think an open-element intake like a BMS would be any more helpful.

I always wondered how affective an intercooler is for a track day situation as it doesn't seem air would spend enough time in the intercooler to have any benefit. A friend of mine that also track a 135i and I are considering WMI just for the benefit of cooling.

Don’t quote me, but I thought I remember seeing dynos with that setup in the 400+ range, with meth I think you could hit 450ish.

There are variables. I know from my experience that I could have left my tune in one of the first revisions and put down a single gear pull dyno run in the 400's. There were a lot of corrections for anything other than a single gear pull and most of them were up to 6 degrees. I also saw another forum member make some pretty low numbers on 91 octane. DrRobert I think it was.

The first post is on E40. The second post is legitimate. I was at that dyno day with Rob. He was flashed tuned by Wedge which also did my tune. I said it in my previous post. I could have ran a tune to put down these numbers but I didn't like how many timing corrections there were with day to day driving so I asked Ken to pull some out.
