Sound difference? Why yes, yes there is. It blips a bit but instantly goes to the gear and connects the tranny through, as opposed to before when the engine would slowly rev up and you would lurch forward a bit as it slowly connected through all the way.

Did you try coding the KOMBI to see if it fixes your problem? If not, just change any value or simply code it with a blank man file. Good luck!

Only unexpected thing I've noticed that varies from the n54 guys is when I'm in manual mode, when I shift gears the tach will drop to 0 for about a second then shoot back up to it's proper place. The car (engine and transmission) physically behave fine, just the tach seems to get confused.

Anyone else on here want to try it out? The main thread on this is over on [Admin Notified] but it has all the information needed.

For what it's worth, this flash has a pronounced impact on how the 6AT functions. The car feels more like a DCT than an automatic, and it's so much fun to drive. I'm going to drive the car more to get more of a burn-in period to see if I notice any negative impacts, but barring anything too intrusive I would say this is definitely a performance upgrade for all E9x 6AT's

n55 335 6AT with Alpina B3 TCU flash. No issues noted at all at this point.

Very nice upgrade took about 10 minutes from start to finish.

You need the cable and software as well as the v48.1 daten files. The DIY on the other forum is great, but I really wouldn't recommend doing it yourself if you've never done anything before. If you're willing to drive up to NOVA end of next week I might be able to help you out.

Awesome stuff, can't wait to try this myself on my N55 when I find some time.

So I've tried re-flashing mine several times now and reprogramming/defaulting modules, etc. I still get the tach drop, which aligns with someone else that flashed. You are now the key. Can you post up your modules and versions, etc?

CORRECTION 3/6/12: If you are referring to my video above where I state DS mode S1 through S5 - that is INCORRECT.

After this flash, DS mode switched from 1-5 gear to: S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6 in your dash cluster. I watched the switching in the cluster as I gained speed.

PM e90TiAg335i. From what I understand, there are two ways to do the flash a 'hard write' and a 'soft write'. I got the soft write flash and I have no issues at all. It's perfect - just like OEM.

Yes, and that is what they had stated on that other forum, exactly 5 gears which threw me off.

Another question: does it default to second or first gear when you come to a stop in manual mode?

Just had the flash done on my 335 n55 and with no problems at all. All I can say is WOW! The shifts are much quicker, smoother and overall the car feels healthier. Alex@Alpine did it for me and it works flawlessly. Only took about 10 minutes and now I can't get enough of the sound when I downshift! It's great. I'll post a video tomorrow. For those in socal who want more information you can PM me

e90TiAg335i does it here in Jacksonville - no errors - 10 minutes. It's worth the 4.5 hour drive!
