Ed, you have a subtle way of understatement.

Well after seeing all the pics i am definately going to have to make it over the the ring, only need to get a more powerful car now, i have been offered a very nice amount for my car as a trade in so once i find an insurance company which will insure me on a BMW 335d coupe for under 2 grand for the year i will trade it in. I hate insurance companies. One company were asking £8500 a year to insure me on a 330d coupe, absolutely crazy.

The first time you go I wouldn't recommend using too much power but jsut get used to the track. First time I was there I was overtaken by a peopel carrier (on 3 wheels) as I was going so slow. I met a marshal who's done over 2000 laps when I was there last weekend and his ring toy is a really old battered low power Golf - he was still going VERY fast round the ring.

I’m back!!!
OMG! What a wonderful time we had! This was the most exciting trip ever! I left Bucharest at 2:00 AM on Friday and arrived in Koblenz at 10:00 PM. It was a very very exhausting 20 hour drive but as soon as I arrived there and met everyone I realized that it was well worth it. I was on a track for the first time and had 4 laps in my 335d. The ‘Ring is a very very complex and demanding circuit but also highly entertaining at the same time. Unfortunately, I couldn’t have any passenger laps due to some “personal issues” but thanks to everyone who has invited me. We then drove to UK with a nice stopover at Brugge in Belgium - wonderful town. The Eurotunel experience was really nice as well as driving on UK roads! Wednesday was the big day that I’ve visited Evolve. Great guys there had a wonderful time. Thanks Carl for coming with me! I’ll post a review for my remap as soon as possible. The whole trip was absolutely fantastic! I’m so glad I met you guys. I can’t believe what a wonderful community you are. You rock! PICS: Last edited by neo871; 10-26-2009 at 06:29 AM.. |

Ok so i am guessing i should give it a go in the 318i, well i am very tempted, will have to see if the next trips tie in with my leave. Was just wondering how much the hotel was and for how many nights? WIll be one heck of a journey though:
Driving directions to Nürburg, Germany from Garrabost, Lewis, UK: 1,087 mi – about 19 hours 44 mins So over 2000 miles round trip.....would be worth it i believe!!!! Hope to see you soon there. |
