another turbo inlet idea.
Im not sure if this would work, but might provide a workable sort of inlet replacement for the turbos on these cars with the flexibility required to make fitment easier in such a tight space. I got the idea for this from the hoses that come with the forge diverter valves, that are used to recirculate air into the intake and are exposed to intake vacuum when the diverter valves are closed.
Theres a bunch of websites you can find similar products on if you search, but they can be ordered in a range of internal diameter sizes, are 3-4 ply silicone with 4-5mm thick walls and steel wire spiral reinforcement inside/between the plies. Would something like this be usable and not collapse under vacuum from the turbos compressor, yet still be able to flex around the back and front of the engine bay for ease of fitment in such a tight space? all while providing a more free flowing inlet? Of course you would want to secure both ends (on the turbo and on the intake) with clamps of some sort, but i wonder if these would collapse under vacuum (probably the worst thing that could happen lol) heres a couple of examples i found after doing a little searching: http://www.viperperformance.co.uk/pr...853&mat=120947 http://acesanitary.com/products/smw-...ire-reinforced http://acesanitary.com/products/shf-...ire-reinforced http://www.siliconehosesupplier.com/...cone-hose.html http://www.do88.se/en/artiklar/silic...quot-51mm.html

They use molded similar silicone to exact shape that will fit the factory intake path without having to relocate vacuum canisters or coolant reservoirs. They also integrate a pcv recirculation valve, while these dont (would only want to use these if you vent the pcv valve/occ to atmosphere) These are flexible silicone hosing that can be bent or contorted any way you like whether you would like to retain the factory intake path or get creative by making a new design of your own. The vargas solution has been fitted and proven to work. These would be for the diy kind of person that would want to try and engineer it to work.
also, i think vargas inlets are rated to 500 degrees f while these may only be rated to 350-400 degrees f. not 100% sure on that.
