Need to pass AZ inspection with JB4 and catless DP's

Hey everyone! Just got a notice saying my 2010 335i must go through an inspection to renew my registration. I'm currently running catless DP's (VRSF) with the JB4 G5 board. What steps do I need to take in order to pass inspection? I'd rather not revert to stock, and was hoping someone could offer advice. Thank you!

I have heard that AZ allows 1 "not ready", so as long as everything else is fine, you'll pass. I know of two people that have passed with their cats "not ready". Make sure everything else is on point. If it were me I'd just get a dpfix in and turn auto-clearing off.

Doesn't the newest JB4 have the DP Fix included?

That I don't know -I have Cobb. A few guys in my local circle have JB though, which is what I was trying to re-state for you.

No.
The Jb4 will help auto clear the engine light but it will still show as not ready during inspection .

You need a DP fix. The JB4 only removes the code for day to day driving but does not allow the system to reach readiness. You will need to install the Dp Fix and turn the auto code clear off or better yet set JB4 to map0. Once thats done you will need to drive cycle the car for 30-100miles in varying conditions to get all the parameters to show readiness.

You are usually allowed one parameter not to be ready.

Thank you Mike for the info! Is the DP fix install pretty straightforward? No soldering or anything? I installed my JB4 and DP's so I imagine I'm capable to do the install.

Check your local laws before you you buy anything. Some areas allow you to have one or two not readys and still pass. Some do not. If your area allows one "not ready" code then you can simply disable the cat code with a cobb tuner or bbflash. The cats will show not ready but you'll still be able to pass (since they allow one to be not ready) and you won't have any codes since you disabled them in software. No need for the dpfix.

Ya its a simple connection. No cutting. It just gets pinned into the BMW or JB4 harness. If you installed the JB4 then it will be very simple for you to do. 10min job.

Pickup the DP Fix from a vendor, VRSF and Wedge make them, almost every vendor sells them.

As previously stated, the JB4 only clears the code, it doesn't actually bring the O2 sensors to readiness.

I am in AZ and had to pass last year with downpipes. I ran JB4 with the downpipe fix in and drove according to the readiness thread elsewhere on this forum. Passed without issue! Hope that helps

Haven't checked the laws here in AZ, perhaps we are allowed to pass with at least one ready signal not showing.

This is the same as the county I live in Texas. Just disable the catalyst code in software (cobb or bbflash) and then get all the other systems ready. You should pass without the dpfix.
