NCS Expert COAPI-2000 IFH-0003 ERROR

To start, I would like to say that I have looked through many threads over the last few days trying to figure out how to get through these error codes and how to fix them. Im trying to code a new EKP module to my 2008 e90 335i.

The problem: Error codes COAPI-2000 and IFH-0003 on NCS expert when trying to read the FA after the VIN gets pulled

I have made sure i have all e89 Daten files and made sure my 7 and 8 pins arent bridged on my K+ Dcan cable. I have also tried 2 different install methods which i will link below, and made sure all my COM settings are correct to match the config files in the EDIABAS folder. Any help would be great, thank you.

I know there are websites and some threads that have fixes for it, but trying all the traditional methods didn’t work. My car is a 09/2007 build, if that helps any. All of the current threads i could find have expired/broken links to updated files and/or downloads to the Standard Tools, again any help would be great, Thanks!

IFH-0003 is communication issue. Make sure com port is 1 and latency timer is one for the cable in device manager

Update - I used a different installation method from VRRTuning and i got an updated sp-daten file with it, and used BMW Coding Tool to update all the files in NCSExper and EDIABAS. Im still getting the same codes. The daten version is V68 or v67.1 i cant remember.

My original IFH-0003 code vanished on its own and now i get a BIP-0001. error along with COAPI-2000. My datens are updated, I know my cable is good, My ediabas config files are properly setup, What else is there to try??

If anyone could help i would really appreciate it, im pulling my hair out over this. I can send whatever screenshots and files needed.

Can only speak for my situation, but your situation sounds similar to mine. My car is an 07 335i with 230k miles, purchased second hand a several years ago with 120k on the odo. When I initially tried to do some coding, I had the same coap error. I found that by updating the jbbf (junction box electronics) with winkpf, the car's com network will reconnect and allow automatic read of the VIN and FA in ista, winkpf and ncs expert. I had to read the ZB number in inpa and input it into comfort mode along with manual entry of the vin. Can only say this worked for me but your car is similar to mine.
