oh gotcha - so are other parts likely to be able to handle this mixture?

Mechanically speaking with the stage 2 lpfp you can go up to E70 without any problems, although there are only marginal power increases over E60. At this level you should be logging though to make sure its all ok.

However for this much E you'll need an appropriate back end flash.

What brand rotors are they? Are they they the ones BMR sell for approx $500 a pair, so $1k in total?

Did you experience increase in brake squeak/ noise switching from OEM to these?

Also, are you still using OEM pads?

I am considering doing the same so any insights will be great. Sorry for bringing up an old thread

Thanks

FWIW PTF said on stock turbos there is no advantage going > E50.

Also in addition to the LPFP upgrade you need a healthy HPFP, the high fuelling demands of running E85 will expose a weak HPFP (much like a tune will epose a weak coil/spark plug)

Yep these are BMR rotors I think I paid $900 for the full set ( can't remember tbh) Have been faultless no squeeking or diff in performance. Yes running stock pads which are dusty. Changing to ceramics to avoid the dust. Will let you know how they perform with the BMR rotors. Hope this helps

Thanks mate - yes it really does, just weighing up whether the ECS 2 piece is worth spending the money for as they are about $900 for the front only. Will speak to Active and get their view as well

Cheers

No worries. I'm not sure what the advantages of 2 piece vs. 1 piece rotors are. Someone from the forum will be able to comment

Doesn't it just look better?

Haha the main difference is weight, the 2 piece construction saves mass as the braking surface is iron (dense heavy material) whereas the hub is made from a lighter alloy.

Also 2 piece brake rotors have improved cooling properties with less chance of warping the rotor.

+1

For many applications you can also replace the rotor part only and reuse the hat to save cost. Not sure if ECS offer this though...

Wedge reckons E60 is beneficial on stock turbos, but he also pushes boost up on stock turbos more than ive seen from others. Depends how aggressive timing is too.

Agree, a weak hpfp can be a real problem with high E content which is why logging is important.
