hi i was wondering if you would get better traction on snow with LSD, becouse from what i read it says that with open diff power goes to the sliping wheel so if i was one wheel on ice and one on dry surface i will be spining that wheel on ice, but with LSD i should be able to drive of becouse it transfers power from left to right , mi wright?

and what you guys think?

youll get better traction, but it will most likely be harder to drive actually

go in the snow and floor it w/o and youve got a wheel spinning, not to big of a deal, with lsd both wil go crazy and the back end will become completly loose and go all over the place


you dont have to worry about it either way w/ DSC its incredibly good

On my 4x4, I had to get the rear LSD removed because it became such a bear to drive on the snow/ice. With open diff, you have one wheel acting as a rudder if the other spins. With LSD, you are going round 'n round.

Granted my 4x4 does not have DSC. Even with DSC, if the LSD causes you to start rotating on ice, the momentum may be such that DSC can't help you. DSC does not negate physics.

I much prefer driving/rallying in snow or any slipery conditions with a LSD.

well yea, you wouldnt go anywhere w/o the lsd

but hes talking about driving around town, in which case an lsd will probably get him into an accident w/o dsc on (since he asked the question i assume hes not exactly a performance driver)

Everyone should learn how to control power oversteer. It's fun and an important component of effective driving.

dont turn of the nannies and U'll be fine with LSD, better like with open diff. Just dont tuch the FUN button...

I think you are wrong......or I might be wrong, I always thought that you will get power on the wheel that still has traction...DTC would not allowed the will to spin unconditionally????....or at least that’s what I was told.

LSD if you want to get anywhere. LSD will always be better than open diff.
