Yellow transmission light

Hey guys i’m hoping for some help i get the yellow transmission light only when the car is off and in park, never has popped up when the car is driving. No slipping or shifting issues whatsoever. i have gotten an over torque code before after flashing an mhd tune. But otherwise it drives fine

Put the XHP app on your phone, I'm pretty sure it will let you scan for transmission codes for free. You definitely want to fix any transmission issues before you put an MHD tune on the car....that's just going to make things worse.

If you are getting the yellow gear symbol on the dash, it means transmission issue. What are you scanning it with? Most scanners won't show TCM codes, that's why you need the XHP app....to read the TCM codes.

There’s an aftermarket gear selector installed as you can see, which by the way i hate. I have the oem one. when i pull the cover off to swap them out i’m going to check for loose wires / unplugged cables

yeah it’s like an amazon shifter. my bet is there js a loose wire in there and the car doesn’t know if it’s in park or not. Keep in mind it only does this when the car is completely off

Did this light start coming on directly after you installed the Amazon shifter?

If so....I'd say you know what the problem is.

Also...it's an Auto, why did you replace the shifter? Got of pic of it?

Yeah I don't understand either, that yellow warning means there would be a code.

I have something similar when my shifter is disconnected and car turned off or I open door. But mine will show an actual shifter icon in the dash and mine is a DCT. But it doesn't throw a code so maybe it's related to that Amazon shifter thing.

Yes, it’s only when i open the door it pops up. no codes are stored so i’m not worried but it’s just annoying and i want to solve it

Can you jump fine a nice used OEM shifter for cheap and put that in? What does the Amazon shifter gain you?
