Aux input messed up

i bought the male to male connector for my ipod today. i played some music and its only coming out of the right side of my car...i tried shifting the balance and the left side isnt getting any sound. what gives?

Don't know if you've tried the following...

Try plugging the aux plug in harder to try to establish a better contact. You can also try moving the plug around in the socket too.

Since those cables can be returned with no questions asked, you could try getting another brand of cable to eliminate a cable problem.

Could you be another victim of the "mono cable" problem -- using a mono mini-plug cable instead of a stereo plug? A couple of other posts with this same symptom were the result of accidentally using a mono cable from their iPod instead of a stereo cable.

This same thing happened to me, except my sound was only coming out of the left of my car. I tried buying a Belkin stereo cable and that didn't work. Took it into the stealership and they had to order a new part for it. Gave the car to them Monday and still haven't got it back, I am dying!

Try using headphones on your ipod and checking if the sound comes out equally, sometimes the ipod gets screwed up.
