ATM BMW 335D Intake Kit

Hi new to the forums and was wondering if anyone has installed the ATM intake yet. Any noticeable power or sound differences? How is the fit and finish? Thanks.

I have one. It's not a fully enclosed system. Fit is tight. The way the air pipe goes into their box is quirky and instructions are lacking. I didn't realize I was doing it wrong until I popped a couple rivets, but that was on me I guess. Can't comment on power as the car is relatively new to me and I'm still learning it and I don't drive it that much. There is a change to the sound.

There is a waiting list for the intake. It's that good if you are tuned. The ATM website has the dyno graph. You will also hear some wooshing and hising/turbo bark. I've been running mine for a year now. No complaints.

The facebook group has more details, but there is also a paper cone option soon to be released.

Power gains - yes
More sounds from the engine bay - yes
Design and fit (the biggest limitation is the cramped engine bay and how the snorkel feeds at an angle) - 9/10
Quality of the parts - 10/10

Easy installation - I am not a skilled mechanic and it took me all of about 40 minutes to install. As the space is tight, you will have to do some wiggling. It uses the existing duct work and the cone filter enters the enclosure at a slight angle. That was the only confusion for me.

Gives the engine bay a nice look when installed.

Power gains from stock? Eh, probably nil. Although for your $350 it will sound better.

Tuned cars reflected a noticeable gain with this intake. My car was the test case.

Sure, but we aren't talking about a tuned car here.

+1

Stock & Tuned both will sound better. As with any intake tuned cars will yield more gains.

Op didn't specify tuned or stock.

Could you send us diesel owners a link to your before and after gains? I’m curious, as to what the actual gains are.

The thread can be searched - I don't have a link to the thread saved. @Iannone is the guy to ask in here.

Sounds like I'm pre-ordering one. Thanks for the input and if any of you are thinking of a muffler delete, let it be know that there is no difference at all if you are still running the stock exhaust. I hated the stock tips so I ordered a set of 4in tips. When I was having them put on I decided to remove the mufflers too and it made no difference. On the bright side it looks a lot better now with the 4in tips.

@Torqu3

That video was dizzing and well, nothing...
I don't have a video or audio, but the best description I can describe from myself and others, is that you can hear a rushing wheeze every time it shifts. Almost like it's breathing. Sounds cool, but I wonder if it's because it isn't a closed box like the oem setup. Of course I don't have numbers but I hope it's breathing better than oem. If not, it sounds better.

Anyone have issues popping codes after install? I installed in stock 335d and got a P0101 and P0402 and went into limp mode. It was fine until i got on it then it went into limp mode. I removed the MAF sensor and cleaned it then tried it again and the same thing happen again. I reinstalled the stock air box and had no codes or issue.

Did you reset MAF adaptations using INPA or ISTA? Check your MAF connection plug.
