yes
Agreed. At 51 it wasn't so easy but I find myself using it more often than I thought I would!

Don’t forget that the DIY isn’t complete without covering the part of the Rear Parcel that is now exposed when the seats are folded down. I didn’t realize there’s still a few more things to order that I missed the first time I put my order in with ECS for the rest of my parts
Rear Parcel Trim Crossmember - 51 4 67 123 386 Trim Counterplate - 51 4 67 140 774 (x2) Looks pretty ugly/unfinished with the seats folded down so I’m glad I was able to poke around RealOEM and find there was a trim cover for e90s, just like the e92s have Enjoy

I am still waiting on the parts from ECS but I managed to find pictures on the forum of e92 seats folded down and you can see the parcel trim right at the very top of the photo around the seat lock-actuators

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet but your post says 2x of the 63121374075 expanding nuts, but I believe 4 are required.
Also does anyone know the part numbers for the two screws for the swiveling brackets on the left and ride side of the seat backs that mount to the chassis? The RealOEM diagram does not have them and mine did not come with those two screws. One of my locks is also missing the grommet for the wire, so I have to find something to work Edit: didn't realize I'd be reusing the two fixed seatback bolts for the side brackets on the coding seat. trim counterplate
Does anyone know how the trim counterplate installs? There seems to be groves at the back of the rear cross member cover from the bottom side with the open side up, but I cant make sense of it. PN 51467140774 PS Answered my own question it appears to work connected from the bottom side up snapping into groves there and then you put the cross member on and press hard toward the parcel tray and it will snap onto place. If I am wrong please let me know and how it actually works. I cannot find another way to make it work. Thanks! Jeff

Excellent DIY, worked perfectly on my 328xi. I have the following parts brand new left over after deciding not to do the center belt conversion. If you'd like them, please give me a PM.
*Factory Two Peice Middle Seat Belt* Totally Up to You Upper Part ~ 72 11 7 132 245 Lower Part ~ 72 11 9 138 232 |

Will the above "how to" styled thread and parts apply for my BMW 330D 2006, SE AUTO? I plan to start collecting the bits very soon.

I have compiled a how-to style video showing the process of how I retrofitted the folding seats in my e90. I hope this helps someone:

Hi guys! I also just completed this retrofit. Thanks to all the previous posters videos and information, I wouldn't have been able to do it without all the previous posts. If anyone has any questions on anything feel free to ask. There are some random things you don't really figure out til you're in there. I'd be glad to help. This is super useful and I already love having it after a day!

Hi All - resurrecting old thread! This writeup has been so helpful.
1) Found set of black leather M3 e90 rear folding seats from a 2008, on craigslist for only $60! Came with a few parts and brackets that I didn't have to order 2) Ordered all extra parts including 2 part seatbelt 3) My seats did not come with the ski bag. My question: since there's a hole behind the armrest, do I need to oder the ski bag, or can I use the piece from my existing non-folding seats to cover the hole between the trunk and the cabin, or do I need to actually order the ski bag assembly? ($350 - $400). Thank you! Parts come next week, so I should have this done in a week or 2. |

Ski bag!
You can find one on Ebay, or search craigslist or your local junkyard. Most likely you can find one in near mint condition!

Stuck Rear Seat
I have the folding seats, and the larger one is currently stuck in the down position. The seatbelt tensioner wont release the seatbelt, no matter how much fiddling i try!
I can only move the seat up a few inches before the seatbelt 'locks' and i cannot raise it any higher. If i can get the seat cushion out, is it just a single torx bolt holding the seat belt buckle in place? EDIT - Just tried to remove the lower seat cushion, and then middle seat belt goes through a slit on the back bolster of the lower cushion). I've tried getting my hand through the gap, but i can't get to the bolt. With the seat belt attached, i cannot remove the lower cushion either. Any ideas on how to progress, as i'm completely stuck?!? Last edited by Geo248; 06-20-2020 at 06:38 AM.. |

Style
The patterns are different, leather material different most likely, the color may also vary even though the factory code may be the same.
