Injector Puller

Anyone have any other tools they have used to pull injectors I can buy to pull out the injector? it's being really stubborn and doesnt wanna come out? or anyone have any other DIY ideas? picture is what I've been trying to use and tap it with a hammer but being its Injector #6 and it's way in the back of the X5 leaves me with very little room to swing the hammer to give it a really good tap. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Some have had to remove the plastic and the metal cross bar to get room to get 6 out.
I used threaded rod for my tool so I made another piece that's longer with a bend in it instead of removing those parts and got lucky with tapping

you can screw a nut/washer onto the injector and pry from there with a good pry bar....if u dont feel comfortable with that method, snap on makes a very short slide hammer for these particular injectors

Another way, put the inj holding bracket on but a little loose on the nuts.
Reconnect fuel lines and connectors. Fire up the engine and stop it as soon as you hear the loud leak. (It'll sound like choof choof choof) or you might hear a loud rattle. Try running 5 seconds at a time and check if injector feels loose, if you want to be safe.
I did this on my tdi as I didn't have a puller back then.

You can do this with the intake off but make sure nothing is around the ports to get sucked in. Or just put the manifold on but only tighten a few nuts (doesn't need to seal boost for a short idle).

Thank you everyone that replied! I dont see what it's so stuck in there, once I take out the 2 8mm nuts on the injector off do I need to take off the threads that have the splined head? I dont remember taking them off last time lol

I bought a 2lb sliding hammer kit from Harbor Freight ($20). Look at the shaft of the hammer - check the thread, then weld a M14 x 1.50 nut to a coupling nut that threads onto the sliding hammer shaft.

Voila. Total cost for my tool was under $30.

i bought the tool off ebay. heavy duty bracket with bearing.

it states m47 / m57 and is incorrect tool. I was going to return and then got a m14x1.5 lug nut (off my 964 - the sacrifices me make!) welded to the shaft...

works very well and you use minimal force. turn the large bolt a couple turns with large tool... slight pop and the injector comes off. will send pics later.
