Where to buy Cat replacement? "4D16 SRC System, efficiency" code

I replaced both NOX sensors, refill/reflash tank with fresh DEF, tested meetering valve, cleaned carbon and EGR, regenerated DPF and it fixed many issues but still shows the "4D16 SRC System, efficienty" code. I guess it can be related to Cat, what do you think? If that is Cat, how to replace it and where is the best place to get new one? Is it possible to replace only the cat stone or it should be replaced within all exsaust pipe? Thank you.

Check your engine temperature at highway speed. If you are running less than 83-86deg C then you need a new thermostat and your SCR efficiency code will be gone.

Did you do Nox sensor calibration with ISTA after installing new sensors?

Actually i am talking about SCR adjustment function in which you have to drrive it for 30 mins and DDE shuts off urea injection and then both nox sensors(pre cat and post cat) should read same.

Do you remember the name of that function? "SCR adjustment"? or "SCR test"? I will definitely do it, but I can't believe that cat by itself(without DEF) do not reduce the NOX... in case if cat reduce it by itself First and Second NOX sensors will not have the same values...

First document tells that pre and post cat readings should be identical after deactivating urea injection.

I haven't done it myself but its in :
Vehicle management---Service function----power train---Digital diesel electronics (US version)----SCR system-----SCR system adjustments--then follow the directions.

I have attached related documents as well.

Also check your Def injection nozzle for any urea buildup.

There has been a fair number of 4d16 errors lately. I think it's mostly because the cars are now getting up in miles and the NOx sensors are failing due to old age (entirely normal, but they're really expensive compared to O2 lambda sensors.) There have been a number of posts and threads on it, so if you search the subforum for 4d16 there a number of hits.

This one has a substantial amount of info about finding the true problem; someone has suggested I should do a post for stickiness...

I tested the temperature on freeway and when I drive downhill = 77-79, uphill - 83-86, flat - 80-81C

And System test doesn't start conditioning run, it starts from system test(11 steps) which doesn't required driving...

I would not conclude that your thermostat is fine. I have a bad thermostat right now and in traffic I get to 90c, but as soon as I hit highway i drop to 70c or so. You should not have such a large temperature drop on the highway. Please check your temperatures again. Also, check how fast does your car warm up to full. Mine takes a long time 10-15 min of driving with a bad thermostat. I also get a shadow code for coolant temperature plausibility or something like that. You may not get it as your deviation may not be that great, but check nonetheless. May be cheaper to replace your thermostat than to start replacing all the NOx/SCR related components.

Yucko. $1200. A few people on these forums might have one for sale (also check bimmerfest diesel forum). At one time TDIWyse had one for sale.

There was a member named sour335D that was selling his stuff. He hasn't been on here in a long time though. I might have his email address. I will dig. He changed over to an aftermarket exhaust spring/summer 2015.

What do you think is reasonable price for used cat? I'm worrying about the condition of the used Cats, I heard that Cats are very sensitive and it can be easily damaged during shipping, or it can be from the salvage car, or from the car with 100k> and so on...

Did you make sure that your urea injector is spraying normally? Also your mixer is clean and no urea crystallisation on the front of the mixer?

I did it several weeks ago... After that I had error about NOX sensor before cat and I replaced that one, now it says Catalytic converter... Do you think that it can be crystallized in two-three weeks in case if front NOX shows wrong values? Should I check it again?
