xHP stage 3 slow shifts

Installed xHP stage 3 on my 09/2006 335 and shifts don't seem any faster, just the rpm gauge moves quicker. Wondering if I should reflash or service my transmission with new solenoids, sleeve, etc even though the car only has 83k miles. Some shifts were jerky before the flash but are considerably less now, but shifts are nowhere near as fast as other cars I'm seeing online. Can upload a video if needed

Have you driven around for ~50 miles to allow the trans to adapt? Anytime I reflash mine, it feels "sloppy" at first then tightens up after a small drive

Your supposed to be o drive with low loads, not in sport mode to 4k.

Solenoids, sleeves, seals and filter and fluid change does make a big difference though.

I couldn't find a very definitive answer on how to drive during the 50 miles but that makes much more sense haha. Thinking I'm just gonna order the service kit and solenoids

Let us know how it goes.

Also did you have a look at your adaptations values ?

They are a good indicator of wether your clutch pack is worn.

Looks fine to me, from what I read.

Are you using the custom module and have you bumped up the Shift speed and played with Torque reduction?

So far I've only flashed the ots maps without messing with settings and reflashed mhd for xHP. How much should I set the slider to get fast shifts that aren't too rough? Or is it all subjective

Adaptations can look fine...and you can still have issues with seals and solenoids.

Like dRew said.....service it....fluid, filter, seals, solenoids.

That should be the standard service for anyone who has a ZF 6HP21 in their car and starts having issues.

Bumping up the Shift speed will cause more of a jolt as you will feel the shifts especially on WOT. I prefer it that way, so I've got shift speeds at max and torque reduction at +18%

Personnel preference.

Make sure you flash custom settings applied.

That's true, servicing should be done regardless of what adaptations say. But adaptations do give some sort of an indication on clutch wear thats all.

Drew I've done seals, filter, fluid change in last year. Car is running alright, I know solenoids make a difference but I was thinking how much it would be, if I changed mine.

Is it only worth doing solenoids if you have issues or would you recommend everyone does it?

Shift solenoids can cause all kinds of issues. My transmission was starting to slip in 5th gear.....new solenoids fixed the problem. If they aren't modulating correctly and aren't supplying enough fluid flow and pressure to the clutches.......you can have all sorts of issues, not all of which are related just to shifting.

Thanks mate. On my list of todo things. At the moment the car is running fine, but since I plan on keeping the car for at least a few more years, better get it done. At nearly 123,000 miles.
