Acceleration feels slower with DTC off

When I turn DTC off (hold the DTC button until wheel spinny thing appears on dash), It feels like my acceleration on a full throttle pull feels slower compared to traction control fully on. Could this be an effect of my oversized tyres?

(Tyres are Yokohama advan sport v105 with 255/35/19 in the front and 275/35/19 in the rear on 18x8.5 +35 and 19x9.5+35, and yeah it rubs on bumps and stuff)

Try turning off the DTC completely, (press and hold DTC button for 3 - 4 seconds) until you get the triangle symbol. Then all the electronic nanny controls should be off.

When I do that, its feels slower. Theres no wheel spin? Could it be my clutch slipping due to its age + wide grippy rear tyres + the full power to the wheels since DTC is off completely?

doubt it. No reason I am aware of it should feel slower.

Are you brake boosting in 1st and launching?

You should time your pulls and get some actual data before concluding whether it's slower or not. But I do think you'd need to do a little coding to get your speedo calibrated properly, this might influence how the car behaves with DTC on etc. Your rolling diameter seems closer to what an M3 would run.

My car comes alive with DTC off. I have sticky wide tyres too. Without brake boosting it will spin the tires through first gear on an incline. On a flat the tail feels really light through first and second so I assume it is just losing traction. With DTC on it doesn't feel as squirmy or as fast. It may just be the squirmy part that makes it feel faster.

Actually right now it couldn't get out of its own way since the ECU is on the front seat of my Ute.
