Plate was installed wrong, backwards. The way it was installed only one of the arms was holding the injector down. Buy new plate and install it correctly. Lke this:

Not a lot, was 22 or 25lbs IIRC. I just get them tighten buy hand with small wrench.

Guess there's a first for everything... Lol

Yea dude you put the breacket on upside down so it wasn't holding the injectors in with tension
You look like you got away really lucky with minimal ersosion and barely damaged the seal!

Now not saying you but with over 12 years in the dealership I hear the term "stealership" thrown around all the time.
Guess what you almost cost yourself a head and a couple of injectors. Not to say It can't happen in a dealer but highly unlikely and if it does happen they eat the head and or total repair!

Don't think people realize a lot of the work they are doing and the proper way to do it as well as the consequences of a faulty repair.

Install new seal and decoupler.. Size the seal down with the special tool and then reinstall with new plate and torque to spec (23nm iirc)

If you don't have the tools die it to someone who does. You can just put a seal on and jam it it. The seal need a to be "shrunken" persey

-yes, sorry for OP, obviously lack of experience to tell how the brackets need to be bolted down.
-have seem a lot of n54 with injectors installed by dealers without decouplers and not even coded.
-small hose clamp works for compressi the new seal.

Put it this way, I bought the car with that bracket being installed backward, so I install it the same way as removal. Now that I know, once again thanks feuer and whoever replied

Yea dude it looks like you really dodged a bullet big time... Get her back together the right way and if you don't feel like you can make it all work don't be afraid to chicken out...
Better to be a chicken on the side line with cash in his pockets for other mods ya know

The little bit of cash at a capable shop vs the price of a head and labor will be the difference between you scrapping a car in the classified section vs a rat's didn't wanna spend that cash now

There is a fix for this. I designed it and have the patent on it. (Patent pending at the moment) attached is link to it and also a video from a customer. Enjoy!
