It looks very good so far man! I sympathize with your having to get a N54 instead of the S65. Makes more sense considering. Although my absolute, and utter dream car is throwing a S85 in one of these E91 M3 retrofits. Endgame car right there.

Thanks so much! I've just got the e91 specific H&R, the rear does sit a little lower, I understand you can drop e46/36 spring spacers in the correct the 1/2" variance. Ride quality is quite good actually. Personally. I think the conversion is worth for aesthetics alone. Something about dual quads and fengshui make me calm. It's a lot of work just like any custom job, OEM hangers, evap bracket, 335 rebar, left and right skit plates, and heat shields. The evap really is a pain in the dick. I do have a check engine light now because of some pressure loss, must have a leak in one of the lines.

I know the bolsters are different. Did the upper rear seat covers just transfer over to the E91 seats or was there cutting and stitching that needed to be done also?

I got really lucky and found e91 rear with Ski pass so the only thing that needed done was cutout where the latches lock on the upper sides. The stock location that exist on the e90 version are covered by plastic caps already on the e91. For reference stock cushions were the same on both (at least to the naked eye and feel) so we didn't swap that over, just the leather. Now, side bolsters have to be cut down and trimmed but the plastic trim covers the top so it doesn't need to perfect even though my upholsterer did it flawlessly. Bottom seat is a direct swap and cushioning was different we noticed

Thanks. I pulled the front covers from a wrecked e90 and was going to dye my rears to match but if swapping the covers is all it takes, that seems like a much better option. I'll probably just dye the bolsters.

Strong work!

Your car is coming together nicely. The new paint job reminds me of my old car color - loved that shade of blue.

The luggage compartment conversion looks terrific, and it looks like you did it properly, without shortcuts. I've read about the charcoal canister move being unpleasant and finicky. Glad you were able to sort that. I have this conversion in the queue, so was following with interest. I obtained a European charcoal canister and bracket for mine, because it's smaller and lighter, with some flexibility in fitment / placement. I'm considering mounting the canister like the 1M, so that it stays on the right side rather than moving it to the left. The goal would be to not need to customize the various hoses that connect the canister to parts of the fuel system. I hope to avoid any leaks in the system. Like this 1M:

Yeah that's a great idea on that setup. I need to get the car back up on a lift so I can better inspect lines. Still have pressure loss issue in the system, might just swap to n54 OEM lines but have to drop the gas tank to run it properly.

Beautiful wagon, I love the transformation. I was thinking it looked great after just the wheels and M-sport conversion but then it just kept getting better and better.

Thanks. It's been a fun project for sure and glad I can tackle little bits at a time. Makes it especially fun for cars and coffee during the summer months because people can follow progress each time I'm there.

Winter wheels are on. 285s clear 340 f30 brembo. Going to have custom inserts created for the 2 pot rears and mount them up this winter to see if those will clear as well. One thing is official, absolutely going to powder coat the m359s umber gray this winter. Dark grey wheels look so good with blue and gloss black accents!

Love your project and what you have done with it, especially the color! I have an LCI E91 too and have been thinking about doing the same conversion. I am wondering what is involved in fitting/installing the M3 DCT shifter assembly and console?

Motivemods wired the shifter. The shift boot was another story. I tried to have redlinegoods to custom make me a boot but the Nappa leather they use is too thick to form around the shift ring. I used a boot from a manual e46 m3 and fit it.

Looking for some advice on which color to powder coat my M359s. I found these Umber Gray wheels and thought they look perfect. I just can't seem to find the powder to supply the shop. His recommendation was to go with either Anthracite or Evo gray (which I don't think is dark enough). I'm looking for an almost black but not. Any recommendations on something from prismatic or where I can get Umber Grey in the state?

Beautiful and detailed conversion so far! Love it! Also, you still have the N52 in but with an N54 exhaust?
