Ran over log. Possible outcomes?

Hey all,

I ran over a log last night on an interstate exhange. It was probably 3" in diameter. I didn't have anywhere to swerve so I ended up going over it with all four wheels.

I think I can tell my alignment has changed.

I feel like I have more road noise and vibration through the wheel now, but I might just be overthinking it.

Can we discuss what could have gone wrong? Is it likely that I just need to align the car or could I have bent a suspension component?

I've got stock 17" wheels and so I'm not thinking it's likely to have bent a wheel. I think I'm going to have the car aligned next week and I guess they'll be able to give me some info there.

Bent wheel/sidewall bubble on tire/alignment/bent suspension components

That's a good list to start from.

Update!

Looks like I bent 3 of my 4 wheels. One was pretty bad but was still repairable. The other two were not as bad, and I've put off repairing them for now. No other suspension components were damaged and my tires are good.

Keep an eye out on that wheel that you had repaired. Once repaired they are not as strong and are prone to bending again.

Log

If this happened in California someone would have sued you for hurting the log, if not the log itself, because logs are people too!

What wheels were you running? Was it genuine BMW-wheels, aftermarket or replicas?
