they never used the MAF - on the original tunes that were not working properly, they just clipped the MAF wires and deleted the DTCs.

I get that it came with the kit, but I wish I was reading that BPC saw the part, realized it was unnecessary, and left it out. :/ Oh well, we live and we learn.

I look forward to read your review on the setup once you get it back! Good luck and glad your engine was ok! So, the kit normally runs off the MAF per the ESS tune hence the air straighteners, but you go BPC without MAF hence you eliminate the straighteners, correct? Did you ever run default ESS versus custom tune if so, to see difference?

No. The original tune and kit from ESS used to use the MAF for the tune. As of the revision (VT1+ kit I believe) the tune is MAFless, but the straightener is still a carryover as part of the kit.

Any updates on how the car is doing now?

Sadly, I went straight w/ BPCs tune Seattlesquash..
Taskmaster I haven't heard anything from Randall yet... I think he said Bob was out yesterday. IDK about today.

Thanks for the update guys. So, let's say I pick up the kit from ESS now then I order the VT1+ kit, and can comfortably remove the part without compromising performance or durability hence not utilizing MAF? Also, if so would you not anticipate that ESS remove the part if future orders to eliminate risk if it's just a carryover? Obviously, want to make sure I eliminate the chance of this if I pick it up soon, and likely will go the ESS remote tune option as included with cable etc since I will install it myself.

With headphones, you can hear that thing so good!
I can add more boost.. Slightly w/ a "smaller" one from ESS. That one is worth 8psi vs the 6.5 that I currently have. But to attain that pulley, need to have an intercooler installed or be running meth through the system. After I get cooling measures down, maybe CobraMarty can take my $ and have his fren hook me up with a slightly smaller one than ESS. But need cooling stuff first 10/10. And its all gravy! You probably saved someone else from asking. And I got no problem answering.

No intercooler from them, sadly. However having an intercooler installed requires more thought than most (including myself) think, and that has to be planned out the right way if I choose to go that way...
With full e85, that is the speculated value, though!
Will need bigger injectors though.
And that can be the next visit.

So what happens now? Are they going to continue to tweak it or are they done. I would assume with the MILVs, there is still some power on the table.
