Question Electric seat W/memory swap

Hey folks,

Yesterday i swapped my sport seats (heated with side bolsters) to fully electric with memory function.

Ive read and searched everywhere for all the info. So im aware of the procedure.

Ive yet to connect the K_can high and low wires yet. But the weird part here is, many people state that you have to add power wires and the kcan lines for them to do anything.... mine moved after i connected them (i allways disconnect the battery for electrical mods) and they worked for the initial seat positioning so im comfy. But i went to try the heat function of them and there was no heat in them. After that my driver seat did not work... passanger side still works (havent tested heating as im afraid it will make that seat not work aswell)

Im going to check different connector diagrams for a possible explanation,
Ive checked all the corrosponding fuses and non of them are blown.

Could anybody try and shed some light on this as im kind-of stuck here...

Im going to try to code them in with VO codes after i make the kcan lines.

If someone can help id be more then willing to make a tutorial in depth showing how to hook them up with pictures of everything so others wont make any mistakes.

News,

After disconnect the battery (tips from other forum) the seat moves again but quits working

So im suspecting that since the seat has memory it needs to activly poll data from the module remebering the positions. And when it does not see a kcan line signal it goes in protection mode and stops all motors after a little time...

Will hook up the kcan and update.

Make sure that all the wires line up in the plugs as you may need to move a few around (depending you year of the seats to the year of the car).

you may need to add kan to both the seats.

Update, After connecting KCAN high/low everything works as it should. After coding in the correct VO to CAS and FRM, aswell as enabling some menus for the kombi (i dont have idrive hence the kombi menu)

The memory functions work and will automatically move seats to the corrosponding keys that unlock the car.

i also took some pictures of how i routed the Kcan to the nearest Kcan line available (idrive controller for those with that is the shortest route) Everyone else should hook it up to the FRM

Here are some pictures from the Connector diagram, FRM diagram

Ill compile all the images i have and what i can find and make a tidy 101 DIY guide. Ill probbably take some better pictures with my canon 7D if needed.

You can se on the connector to the FRM X14260 Find where it says pin 51 and count backwards to 46 and 45 That will be Kcan High and low (check the other picture for color correspondence

i used Newtis for the schematics and pinouts. DOUBLE CHECK WHEN TOUCHING Kcan lines as this is a highway to hell if you short
