Wait, throw a couple of dogs in the back and go for a drive.

I've had my pre LCI 335i (6MT) for 11 years now, great car. It may be coming up for time to change but its still ace. 150k upon and still drives great.

Mine does actually handle better with a bit of weight in the back, but that's because he rear sway bar is rather uprated... But really it's 'because we can' (and saloon/coupe/conv can't)

Well, we put our 52 kilo Alsatian puppy in the back of the e92 35i....obviously not in the boot, on the back seat

Once/if we return to normality I will be replacing the 35i with a wagon, either a F or G 31 40i.

I’m a lover of tourings although I’m in an e92 these days. I used to have to be practical so had an e46 touring but my kids are grown up and I don’t have a dog anymore. I used to fit my rather large deerhound in the touring
I never wanted a saloon, didn’t see the point. Have a coupe for the style or a touring for practicality. Also, to my eye tourings look better than saloons anyway.
They do really need to be m sport and facelift though, just like the op’s.

Well said mate. Mine is a msport. Not sure on the face life. Most 3 series of all models look nice standard or modified to a extent 👍

Yours is a facelift, or LCI (Life Cycle Impulse). Defining feature of them, in my eyes, is the 2 crisp ridges down the bonnet, near the middle. There are many differences between the LCI and pre-LCI though. I actually prefer the styling of the pre-LCI, but to each their own! I think the changeover was sometime around 2008?

Yes it’s definitely lci. The main reason I prefer lci’s is the rear lights, that goes for saloons and tourings.
Conversely, on the coupes I don’t mind, given the choice I’d choose m sport but I don’t mind mine being se. I like the se rear bumper being less styled because the style comes from the overall shape of the car.

Being biased as I have a pre LCI that still looks fantastic when polished up, I prefer the simpler styling of the pre LCIs, I'm not a fan of all the over styled creases that modern cars currently sport and are way Ott (for me, the LCI e91s are still on the the OK side of this but I just prefer the earlier style)
