Question about GFB's DV+
I have a damaged diverter valve throwing the code that says that it's "pinched closed".
Would getting this for the DV rectify the "brokenness" of the valve, or would I need to install this on a working unit? Thanks in advanced guys. |

it should fix your issue yes, either way i recommend upgrading to a DV+ on tuned cars.

I have a DV+ on my pure stage 2 turbo and I still get the wastegate sticking closed error code. No performance issues - but it does sound like a fast and furious supra when I left of the gas - "choo-choo-choo-choo" sometimes.

Hello!
I also have a 2011 335i n55, and today my car started throwing the same code description of "diverter valve pinched closed". I'm pretty damn sure this code is legit, and not some sort of false positive thrown by another issue; DV is actually failing. Especially considering I have the jb4 installed running higher boost levels. Did you ever get the GFB DV+? and if so, did it fix your issue? Thanks! |

It's totally normal with a GVB DV+. The actual benefit of the DV+ is that it has a helper spring that closes the DV at lower throttle levels (where the factory DV would be open). This helps build boost faster and you can actually feel the torque difference in low throtte transitions between the DV+ and the stock unit (or the Turbosmart since it acts just like stock).
The car's computer sees this helper spring doing what it's suppose to do, and stores the "Diverter valve stuck closed" fault code. Nothing to worry about, that's how it's designed to work - that code will never cause a check engine/engine malfunction light. |
