IBS Missing (2E8B)
My n54 has caught the breakdown bug because I've been having one problem after another in the last 2 months. I recently replaced battery and alternator on the vehicle after it left me stranded on my way to work. The first 2 alternators proved to be defective (yeah I know), and finally got a different brand on the 3rd try and that one did the trick and holds a steady voltage.
However I am getting an IBS Missing 2E8B code, along with a 2e83 and 2E85 code for the Electrical Coolant Pump (Missing). The car will also give an unusually long-ish crank when doing cold startup. Has my IBS gone bad? I'm positive it's not the battery and I dunno if my luck was bad enough to purchase 3 bad alternators in a row. |

So you have a picture of the BSD line and it seems to be plugged in.
It the power cable from the IBS plugged into the same slot that it came out of one with and active 12 volt blade on top of the battery distribution block. Have you tried reseating both cables. |

The cable is plugged in. I have not, but I’ll do that today. Is the car safe to drive right now or no?
