Ok so I just got my car back from getting walnut blasted an man does it feel so
Much better. It's so smooth and very nice acceleration, totally worth the money. I highly recommend it to anyone. Carr industries did a great job on the car.

How much did this end up costing you. I'm starting to think I need it done and thinking of taking it to Carr.

I've been getting kind of a pulsing while under full throttle that I think may be from carbon build up.

Just try to find someone local to do it for you on the forums man. Shops charge way too much just because they consider it a specialized service.

My car is about to hit 80k miles and it has never been done. I'm putting together the equipment to do it myself. I plan on walnut blasting between Christmas and New Years, if it goes well I may offer my services up to locals in the Raleigh, NC area. I just think of the fun stuff I could buy for that money!

Cheapest quote I got was $450 from Empowered Autosport in Cary.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. I own Carmedix Auto Repair in the RTP and just walnut blasted my 09 335i the other day. Got vids and pics, it makes a difference! Mine had 60k. I have JB4, downpipes and DCI on mine and it pulls like a freakin train.

I can do the service for N54 engines $400 cash out the door for forum members - includes all supplies INCLUDING new intake manifold gasket. I'll replace spark plugs with OEM Bosch for $500. Our shop stays really busy most of the time, even with 5 employees. It'll have to be dropped off overnight, I'll finish it after the shop is closed and consider it side work. Because of that, I am only willing to do 1 a week you'll have to schedule in advance. email if interested jyhuh28@gmail.com

What's your hourly diagnostic rate? I work at Hendrick and my 335i is currently at our dealership but they're a pain in the ass to deal with.

Interesting, I may hit you up for walnut blast. I was also told my OFHG is leaking, Oil pan is leaking, phantom missfire (no code), plugs, coils, motor mounts (purchased 034 motor mounts UUC trans mounts) fluids changed. My walnut blast inquiry turned into a $7,800 quote lol

Going to Carmedix next week....will write a review of their service...walnut blast price is 400....that's the best in the triangle....called bimmer performance center in Raleigh...quote was 800....Carmedix owner is also a 335 owner, so that is a good plus.

Went to CarMedix in Durham for a walnut blast and plug change. They were awesome and Jay the owner was first class. I did end up needing a new head gasket but didnt feel i was being upsold but an honest repair assesment. The walnut blast made a world of difference and the mechanic took before and after pictures to show me what they were doing and did......performance increase some in power but mainly smoothness.....it just felt quick and smooth as i punched to a couple not so safe speeds on the tole road. close to their shop. I changed plugs while i was there to a little colder .020 irradium plug and that also showed immediate impact. Basically I would have no problem taking Jay and the boys my car to do any type work they are courteous, knowledgeable and thorough......plus if needed they will give you a loaner....but be warned its a ford flex fuel car......LOL
