There's a specific MHD flash designed to work with the JB4.

It will be completely overwritten.

Correct with a jb4 faking the sensor signals you should not check n20 in MHD .

AFAIK you can't turn a jb4 off and there is no flash only mode on n55 (option 4.4 doesn't exist on n55).

Thanks. I am fine with the Dinan Tune being overwritten. I just wasn't sure whether I needed to take the car into the dealership first to have it uninstalled.

Sorry, I missed the part about availability the first time I read thru the original post, must've been skimming. My bad.

My guess is until you get the downpipe you won't notice much different on the exhaust note.

So after I am done with the initial flash(on airplane mode), then I can always do map switching on airplane mode even if I'm at the gas station putting in E85? Some people were talking about having the wifi on, but the directions clearly state in number three that it should be placed on airplane mode after purchasing what I needed.

hey Justin

My 335xi N55 has a factory "performance power kit" installed as it was end of the E90 production run 08/11. Will this flash work with that and not cause any issues?

"...Vehicle dynamics will be further accentuated with the BMW Performance Parts Power Kit, increasing the engine output to 320hp (+20hp) and 332 lb-ft (+32lb-ft). The Power Kit, with its Overboost Function will allow temporary torque output of up to 369 lb-ft. Combined with the BMW Performance Parts Sport Exhaust, this cat-back exhaust system adds style and presence with its single-wall stainless steel finishers and pronounced acoustics..."

Thx

Ran the flasher. Did the BEF for my JB4.

Had an error at I think 88% but it kept chugging through. Flash took 30min and 50s.

Runs smoother for sure.

At the end though, it was throwing the classisc 36BE code that you usually clear with NCSexpert after flashing new DME. Luckily, I ran DME clear again in app and it went away.

Make sure you guys clear DME twice. 36BE kills power.

Ran some logs with JB4 and posted the .csv's over at N54tech if you guys want to see.

Will this work for a more ambitious FBO N55? Perhaps with with a Pure2, Fuel It Stage 2 LPFP and Port Injection setup.

When loading a custom flash I did not see an option for speed limiter removal, exhaust burble, or quite cold start. Are these only offered with the OTS maps?

Is this basically replicating WinKFP with ability to clear codes and logging? Has anyone tried to flash something custom with WinKFP?

Current OTS are built behind stock turbo. So strange necessarily ideal for that. Custom tune would be ideal. Shot me an email.
